I love to discover hidden dining gems when I visit a city that I can’t replicate anywhere else. Cincinnati has so many wonderful places to eat, but I wanted to share with you a few that have something unique to offer from views to menu items.
Dine at the top of a former incline
Incline Public House is located at the top of a former incline that dates back to 1874. The large outdoor deck is a very popular spot on a beautiful day because of its fantastic views of Cincinnati. If you have to wait for an outside table, enjoy the view from the benches at Olden View Park located next to the restaurant. There is plenty of seating inside with a wall of windows to allow guests to still enjoy the view.
Incline Public House makes their own pastrami along with their other menu items from scratch. Make sure that you order the Grippos crusted Mac & Cheese and allow a lot of time to soak in that beautiful view.
Watch the planes while you dine
Sky Galley Restaurant, located at Lunken Airport, allows you to watch small planes and private jets while you dine inside a historic art deco airport dating back to 1925.
Serving up American style food, Galley Restaurant is located in the original art deco terminal building. The views from the restaurant make it a great place to enjoy a meal or a drink as you watch the planes take off and land. If you visit during lunch, check to see if the Cincinnati Aviation Heritage Society & Museum is open located on the 2nd floor. This is a wonderful place to dine for anyone who enjoys and appreciates aviation.
Dine in a former schoolhouse
Your kids will want to visit school year round when they discover this dining gem located inside a former schoolhouse. The Schoolhouse Restaurant was a former school in operation from the 1860s-1940s that now serves up family-style dinners on tables with a built-in lazy Susan. The Schoolhouse Restaurant is known for its fried chicken and comfort foods that will remind you of your grandma.
Make sure that you notice the memorabilia that’s in the case by the register on your way out. I was told that family members have dropped off items that belonged to students who attended school there. If you get there and need to wait for a table, you can kill time at the nearby gift shop, by viewing the goats, or by challenging your dinner guest to a friendly a game of tetherball. There is also a playground for younger guests.
The first of its kind -Buzzed or Non-Buzzed Ice Cream
Taking your ice cream experience to the next level, Buzzed Bull Creamery is a made to order, hand-crafted ice cream shop. They are Cincinnati’s first liquid nitrogen creamery and the world’s first alcoholic creamery. Say what??!! Yes, you can add alcohol to your ice cream and it is delicious! Choose your ice cream, mix-ins, and whether you want it “buzzed’ with alcohol or served “non-buzzed.”
If you are unsure of what to order, I suggest ordering one of their popular specialties because they have already mastered fantastic flavor combinations. I highly suggest the Buzzed Bull (Coffee flavor, bourbon, caramel, nuts, and whipped cream). This creamery is still very family friendly and kids will love watching the ice cream process in action.

I’ve been to the Incline House. The views are phenomenal! A good place to take out-of-town guests. Also, I’ve been to the Schoolhouse Restaurant. a couple of times. Plenty of food to go around and the setting takes you back in time.
