I’m always on the lookout for a unique adventure, which is why I was really excited to learn about 3 unique ways that we could make our golf game more physical at Shawnee Lookout Park. Shawnee Lookout Park is one of the Great Parks of Hamilton County that is made up of 2430 acres that include nature trails, a playground, historical sites, golf course, and amazing views of Great Miami Valley and the Ohio River.
Is watching a performance by Cirque du Soleil on your bucket list?
Now is your chance! The Cirque du Soleil company has performed to more than 160 million spectators in more than 400 cities. I had the opportunity to watch “TORUK the first flight” in Cincinnati last year and I’m so excited to see OVO from Cirque du Soleil for the first time this year. The talent and creativity of the performers is absolutely incredible!
I’ll start off with a bit of a confession, I’m a bit of a wimp. That might sound weird from someone who has ziplined, played underwater hockey, tried the luge, let wolves play with their hair, went zorbing down a hill…..and the list of random adventures goes on and on….. but I definitely wasn’t always that way. In fact, I was pretty scared of everything and definitely not known for being adventurous. [Read more…]
I met the representatives from Visit Stillwater at a travel conference a few years ago and their enthusiasm and passion about their city intrigued me enough to want to visit a place that was honestly never on my radar before. There are two things that you learn pretty quickly during a visit to Stillwater, OK; this community LOVES football and you are destined to bring home one of their creative t-shirts.
So what is there to do in Stillwater, Oklahoma?
I’m sharing 8 things to add to your list.
Tucked away across the river from Cincinnati, on top of a hill that is cut by interstate 75 in Northern Kentucky, is a hidden gem of hope.
For the past few years on Good Friday, I’ve participated in the annual tradition of praying the steps at Holy Cross Immaculata in Cincinnati. This 150 year old tradition dates back to when the church was first built in 1860.
My family LOVES amusement parks and we just happen to live close to Kings Island Amusement Park which means that we can have fun all summer long as a family. Last year we purchased a Gold Season Pass and had a such a great time that we decided to continue the memory making again this year. Purchasing a Gold Season Pass made us face the decision again of whether we wanted to pay extra for the All Season Dining Plan.
I did have some reservations about buying the dining plan because of the cost, but I’m finding the option to be extremely convenient.
1. You can pay for you Gold Season Pass with the All Season Dining over six months in 6 payments.
This makes it easier on the budget without paying interest.
2. I don’t have to meal plan before we go anymore.
In the past we would either eat before our visit at home, get fast food on the way there, or leave the park to eat and come back. My boys are always instantly hungry as soon as we enter the park reguardless of if they have just eaten before. Having our meals covered makes life easier.
3. There are menu/ restaurant options that everyone can be happy from.
There are even healthy and gluten free options.
4. You can get two meals each time you visit with your All Season dining pass.
Your meals have to be 4 hours a part. I would suggest either taking a picture of your food or setting an alarm on your phone to remember what time you ate last. Your pass will not work if you try to eat earlier than the 4 hour window.
5. The waterpark has restaurant options on the plan too.
That means that you can just enjoy the waterpark and don’t have to go to the other side of the park if you don’t want to.
6. You don’t have to pay extra out of pocket if you don’t want to.
The value of each meal is around $15 and is very filling. The pass pays for itself after a few visits. Drinks are not included in the pass but you can purchase a refillable bottle if you prefer to drink soft drinks.
7. You don’t have to cook.
This makes me and my family happy. Your hardest decision will be deciding what you want to eat and which restaurant that you want to eat if from. There is also a sit down restaurant on the dining options as well.
We’ve only visited the park a few times so far and I am so glad that we made the decision to purchase the All Season Dining Plan this year.
Do you have a Gold Season Pass too? Did you buy the All Season Dining Plan?

I look forward to the butterfly show at the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati every year. The butterfly exhibit takes us from spring to summer with a gorgeous array of butterflies and flowers.
My family has visited the Smoky Mountains region around and near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, many times over the years. Each time we visit, we run out of time before we run out of fun. There is ALWAYS something new to discover there…along with many family favorites that we try to visit each time we are in town.
