I look forward to the butterfly show at the Krohn Conservatory in Cincinnati every year. The butterfly exhibit takes us from spring to summer with a gorgeous array of butterflies and flowers.
I look forward to the Butterfly Show at the Krohn Conservatory each year. The butterflies are gorgeous and it’s so exciting when you discover one has picked you to land on. The key is the have your camera ready because those moments happen FAST! I’m looking forward to discovering what this year’s theme as “Butterflies of the Philippines” will bring.
Here is a little more about this year’s show.
This year’s exhibit features the colorful and exotic Butterflies of the Philippines, and they will preside over a majestic tribute to the marvelous Filipino culture. The showroom will be filled with butterflies soaring among bold displays that will immerse visitors in a sumptuous tropical environment. A large, dramatic mural of an erupting volcano and a wildly cascading waterfall will provide a striking backdrop for many tropical plants such as ornate orchids, brilliant bromeliads, delicate anthuriums and dramatic dracaenas.
Many exciting events have been planned throughout the 12-week Butterfly show to allow visitors to experience the free-soaring butterflies and to discover even more about the vibrant, engaging and gracious Filipino culture.

Each late spring there are certain signs to look for to know that summer is on its way. The Butterflies at the Krohn Conservatory are one of those signs.
During a visit to the butterfly exhibit, you get an up close opportunity with such beautiful creatures. You enter the exhibit through the backside of the Conservatory. This gives you a chance to slow down and take time to look at a lot of the interesting plant life that you might not notice otherwise.
You also get to learn interesting facts about Moroccan culture along the way too.
There is also a coloring area for small kids and fun photo booth set up to take pictures.
Our time inside the butterfly area was so much fun as we tried to attract butterflies to land on our piece of paper that we were given.
It was so fun to get to see how beautiful the butterflies were in an up close encounter.
While we were at the butterfly show, we got to witness a butterflies’ first flight.
