West Michigan has a lot to offer when it comes to adventure. I’m sharing 7 adventures that you will want to add to your list to try during your next visit.
I love when plans work out for a spontaneous adventure. My friend was already coming to town, so I just offered her the “choose your own adventure” option for her visit. Try the luge, cross country skiing or attend an ice sculpture festival. I was sooo excited that she wanted to try the luge too. The weekend we went was the first time the track had been open all winter due to lack of snow. This was a Christmas gift I’ve been impatiently waiting to use.
I had tried the wheeled luge track with my kids this past summer and I knew I wanted to come back to try the winter one.
These are some of my favorite winter adventures that I tried last winter while living in Michigan. They are listed in no particular order because they were each special in their own way. Each unique adventure gave me the opportunity to meet people in diverse subcultures and try activities that were not part of my everyday world.
Check out my adventure list so far and get inspired to try something new too!

So here is the start of the running tab. I reserve the right to add to the list as my curiosity continues to become aware of new places and experiences to try. Some are way more ambitious than others, but I figured I might as well go with the quote “shoot for the moon and if you miss you are still among the stars” Travel wise I would love to go all over the world but gotta start a little smaller. The list could really go on and on…….this is just scratching the surface . So I guess this is my start but I don’t ever want to stop adding.
Remember a “Goal is dream with a deadline.” Don’t let time get away from your dreams.
“If you want to do something bad enough, you will find a way, if not you find an excuse.”
What’s on your list? What should I add to mine? Who wants to join me?
I had been wanting to check out the luge track in Muskegon, Michigan for awhile, so when I heard you that could try a luge track in the summer, I knew this would be fun for the boys and I to try.
