My family and I had a great weekend adventure in Sandusky, Ohio at Cedar Point Amusement Park. Cedar Point hosted Bloggy Con which is a conference for variety of bloggers. The park is located on a mile long peninsula surrounded by Lake Erie on both sides.
We stayed at the Hotel Breakers resort which was conveniently located on the amusement park property. The hotel was decorated for the themed HalloWeekends.
The first night gave beautiful views of Lake Erie from the boardwalk by the hotel.
When you stay at the hotel onsite, you are only a short walking distance to two different park entrances.
From the Hotel Breakers parking lot I could see Top Thrill Dragster. I posted a picture of it on facebook to keep me accountable to ride it over the weekend.
My boys started off the evening by riding a big ride called the “Iron Dragon.” On Friday nights during HalloWeekends the park has more thrill rides and haunted houses to get your heart pumping.
On Saturday morning I had to take in a few more beautiful views from the boardwalk before the conference started.
After I completed my conference sessions, I joined my family at the park to ride more rides. Conference guests were invited to bring their kids trick or treating at the “Dinosaurs Alive” attraction.
This attraction is great for anyone who loves dinosaurs!
The dinosaurs move with lifelike motions. Several of the dinosaurs even got into dressing up in costumes.
There is a large variety of dinosaurs who are featured.
You can learn more about the dinosaurs by the interactive exhibits or signs.
The Dinosaurs Alive attraction exceeded my expectations.

Our weekend at the park also included themed HalloWeekend parades.
During our visit at the park, I was really proud of both of my sons for facing their fears and riding the Corkscrew which they both loved…they just needed a lot of bribing before.
Cedar Point has something to offer for everyone. If you love thrill rides, Cedar Point has a great variety of roller coasters and attractions that involve speed and heights.
For guest who prefer a slower pace, there are low key rides and several shows you can attend during your visit.
For younger kids, there is Planet Snoopy that offers a lot of rides for little kids.
During our visit, Bloggy Con founder, Tiffany Noth and I shared our first time riding the Top Thrill Dragster. We were nervous but I kept on thinking that it would be over in 17 seconds and we both knew there was no turning back. Top Thrill Dragster takes you from zero to 120 MPH in less than 4 seconds!
The ride was absolutely INCREDIBLE!!!! It went fast but was more fun than fear once it started.
I enjoyed it so much that I rode it again during the daytime to get another perspective. It’s pretty incredible to see the water from the lake as you are downward spiraling.
That night I had to take on another infamous roller coaster. Millennium Force takes a 310 foot drop and hits speeds of 93 MPH. It was less intimidating because I had already been on Top Thrill Dragster.
Sunday morning a few conference attendees who were willing to wake up super early joined photographer Angie Keiser and Cedar Point’s Marketing Programs Manager, Bryan Edwards for an early morning photo walk before the park was open.
We learned about the park and also got great views of the sunrise.
The park’s first roller coaster was built in 1892 and Cedar Point has been pushing the limits with innovative technology ever since.
During our visit, I went on Cedar Point’s newest roller coaster, Gatekeeper. The ride was so smooth and twists and turns through a small keyhole during the course of your ride.
Cedar Point also has several historic markers in the park. Helen Keller gave a speech in 1925 that was an inspiration for the Lyons Club to work with the blind.
I was really impressed to learn about all of the safety measures taken to make sure that all of the rides are safe.
Each ride is looked over by three different workers by the time the park is open.
Cedar Point is guarenteed fun for the whole family. I can’t wait for our next visit!

I could have easily backed out of Top Thrill Dragster… if you hadn’t taken so many pictures to keep me accountable! I was so scared! It was so much fun and I’m so glad that was our FIRST adventure together!
