Hours of Fun at the World’s Largest Children’s Museum

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis is a bucket list destination for families.

Kids and adults will enjoy hours of fun at the World’s Largest Children’s Museum.

The outside of the museum lets visitors know that this is a place for FUN!

Fireworks of Glass

One of my personal favorite exhibits at the museum was the Fireworks of Glass . I LOVED it so much that I dedicated a blog post with my favorite images of different angles of the tower during our visit.

The Museum is HUGE! It’s actually the world’s largest children’s museum which means that you will need to allow for several hours to really explore the museum.

We were told that we might want to start on the top floor and then work our way down.

Our first stop was Scienceworks, then we submerged ourselves in Chinese culture at the Take Me There: China Exhibit. You can read more about that specific exhibit here.

I loved watching my boys play with the vintage video games from my childhood in the Carousel Wishes and Dreams Exhibit.

There is also a maze of fun and a  carousel that you can ride for free if you are a member and $1 if you are a non member.

The Power of Children Exhibit

The museum did a great job of giving kids an understanding and empathy for difficult parts of our history with The Power of Children: Making a Difference Exhibit that tackled racism and discrimination.

The exhibit takes you into the lives of Anne Frank, Ruby Bridges, and Ryan White.

Each display helps give you have empathy for what they experienced and how they used their lives to make a difference.

You can step into a replica of Ryan White’s room, Anne Frank’s annex, and Ruby Bridge’s classroom.

Dinosphere

The Dinosphere area is an area where kids learn more about dinosaurs with many hands-on exhibits and play.

You can watch the weather change in the Dinosphere area. Make sure that you watch it change to a storm.

Get up close with the Super Croc who is crazy HUGE!

Train lovers will love the Reuben Wells steam engine that they can step on board.

Younger aged kids will LOVE the Playscape area. My boys were jealous that they were too big.

The Treasures of the Earth lets kids play by trying on scuba gear or reconstructing Terra Cotta Warriors.

You will run out of time before you run out of things to do at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis with hours of fun at every corner!
