This year will be my first time attending Summerfair. I love art and I’m really excited to check out this incredible sample of creativity from artists all over the US.
Summerfair is a nationally recognized event that showcases more than 300 visual and performing artists. Summerfair started in 1967 as a small art fair that has grown to draw more than 20,000 visitors from artists all over North America. This will be the event’s 46th year and will take place at historic Coney Island.
Summerfair features a variety of art mediums for every price range and also features unique performances by dancers, singer/songwriters, quartets, and other entertainers. Performers will be showcased on four different stages and will also be strolling the streets.
There will also be a special event on Friday night.
The third annual Little Black Dress Event is presented by Summerfair and Cincy Chic. The event takes place from 7 to 11 p.m. on Friday, May 31, 2013 in Moonlite Gardens, and features little black dresses from local Cincinnati boutiques, accessorized with one-of-a-kind jewelry and accessories from select Summerfair artists. Tickets can be purchased in advance for $15 online at 2013LBD.EventBrite.com or at the West Gate the night of for $20 (cash only).
This year puppeteers and balloon artists will entertain and amaze younger fair patrons in the Youth Arts Rocks! area. The designated section for kids will offer an assortment of art activities and other entertainment for children.
Summerfair Cincinnati supports the arts year-round in the Greater Cincinnati area. To learn more about the organization visit Summerfair.org.
