We attended the opening night of Ringling Bros and Barnum & Bailey Circus – Built to Amaze show! The show was INCREDIBLE! Last year was great as well but there were new acts this year that made the circus even more unique.

I have fond memories of watching the Cincinnati Cyclones while I was in high school. Moving back to the area has given us the opportunity to now share the experience of a Cyclones game with our kids. You don’t have to be a huge hockey fan to enjoy a Cyclones game.
I’m a usually a “few token games a year” type of sports fan and hockey is always really enjoyable for me to watch. I think it’s even better live in person than on tv. I love that it’s fast moving and always has a lot of action. It also gives you an excuse to wear a face mask made out of foam.
There is typically some type of promotion or special at each game. I suggest getting there early if you want to receive one of the limited giveaways at the door. Our kids received free Cyclones t-shirts courtesy of Rumke for Kids Jersey T shirt night.
The Cyclones do a great job of keeping the attention span of all interest levels. There was great music during breaks to dance to and every intermissions had a fun game that involves the crowd.
Every now and then you might see a fight but the refs do not let it get too far out of hand.
There is also the adorable mascot named Twister.
He would probably not like that I called him adorable but he is.
We got to share our suite and our fun evening with a few other local bloggers. Ann blogs at Ann I am and Amy is a contributor for Family Friendly Cincinnati and also blogs at In a galaxy far far away You should definitely check out their sites if you haven’t been to them yet.
If you are looking for a unique birthday party experience you can rent out a private suite for $400. You receive 18 tickets, 2 parking passes, a birthday puck, 1 birthday card, your child’s name on the video board and a visit from Twister. Your suite is decorated and you’re are provided invitations for your guest and a concierge for your party. Beverages, food and birthday cake are an additional fee and can be ordered from a variety of items from the menu list. It’s a great way to not have to worry about cooking or cleaning up.
Check out the Cyclones schedule at their website to plan your next hockey adventure.
The Cyclones season will be going until March 30th. You can purchase Cyclones tickets for as low as $13.
The Cyclones also have several upcoming games during Valentine’s weekend if you are looking for a date night, family night, or a night out with friends.
*Saturday, February 16th is Cyclones Bowl & Spoon Night The first 2,000 fans through the gates receive a limited-edition Cyclones Bowl and Spoon presented by CityBBQ!
*You can also get a free kids ticket for the Monday, February 18th game by signing up your child for the Cyclones Kids Club.
You can also enter to win 4 tickets to game on Saturday, February 16th

My first experience to take in a freestyle motocross event set the bar pretty high.
We attended the Nuclear Cowboyz show at US Bank Arena in Cincinnati.
The show had a little bit of everything.
It was a theatrical style presentation filled with pyrotechnics, lights, dancing and freestyle motocross that will blow your mind as bikes travel through the air with their riders performing incredible stunts.
The storyline is set in the future and is a battle of good vs. evil.
The soundtrack of the show is a combo of techno and metal. If you are bringing younger guests with sensitive ears, I suggest bringing earplugs or purchasing them at the arena. Fortunately my kids are probably the perfect age to enjoy this event.
The pyrotechnics and laser lights show took the stunts to a whole nether level.
I will note that I am super jumpy at unexpected noises and I ironically jumped out of my seat way more than my kids as the pyrotechnics went off during the show.
That was my first time ever seeing that many motocross riders doing stunts at an event. They were incredible!
My pictures don’t do it justice!
The riders made difficult tricks like the “Superman” and the “Kiss of Death” look effortless.
Here is youtube footage of what the show is like.
The tour features 2012 X games medalists Ronnie Faisst, Mike Mason, Taka Higashino. There are also other popular riders from the winter x games. The show incorporates the Metal Mullisha and the Soldiers of Havoc into the plot to bring victory.
You can still catch a Nuclear Cowboyz show on Sunday January 20th in Cincinnati. The Nuclear Cowboyz will also be touring the country. Check out the Nuclear Cowboyz website to find a tour in a city near you. You can also check out their facebook page.
