My family has visited the Smoky Mountains region around and near Gatlinburg, Tennessee, many times over the years. Each time we visit, we run out of time before we run out of fun. There is ALWAYS something new to discover there…along with many family favorites that we try to visit each time we are in town.
If you are visiting Kings Island for the day, you are most likely going to grab a bite to eat while you are there. I’m sharing tips and menu items so that you can plan ahead and make the most out of your dining experience.
A visit to see the Biltmore Estate was on my list for years and I was really excited when we were invited to experience what the Biltmore offered for families during a weekend stay. The Biltmore also happened to be the last destination that my mom was able to visit before she died. She absolutely LOVED her visit there and her face would light up when she would talk about it. I knew that I wanted to experience and get a sense of why it was such a special experience for her.
I’m a BIG fan of spicy food. The spicier the better. I’m not a good person to ask if something is spicy because more times than not, it’s not spicy enough in my book. In fact, most times when someone has a product that they claim is spicy, I’m still left disappointed…my husband is convinced that I’ve burned off all of my taste buds over the years. When I found out about the Wicked Hot Ghost Pepper Sausage from Queen City Sausage, I was cautiously optimistic.

El Paso, Texas is ones of those cities that I instantly fell in love with. The landscape is so different from what I see in the Midwest and yet it had a few similarities. I live in a Tri-State area where it is common to cross state borders daily and El Paso’s location is a Tri-city with access to both New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico. It almost feels like it’s own distinct place because the landscape is so different from the flatter parts of the Texas.
Summer is the perfect time to take advantage of the warmer temperatures and think outside of the box when it comes to planning a special date. I’m sharing a few of favorite summer date ideas around Cincinnati.
Do you love craft beer, local food, and music? I’ve got the perfect festival for you! The Crafted -Local Food, Beer, and Music Festival is coming to Cincinnati on July 21st and you don’t want to miss it!
While the kids were away, the moms went to play. My friend Susan and I took advantage of some kid-free hours with a Daycation in Butler County. You don’t have to go far or away for a night to pack in a LOT of FUN!
Food tours are one of my absolute favorite ways to experience a city. A big part of visiting a destination for me is learning about the local foods and surrounding area. Tourists and locals alike can learn so much about the area by experiencing menu items at restaurants that may have not been on their radar.
