If you are a parent with kids in sports or any extracurricular activity for that matter, you know how challenging it can be to juggle schedules and meals between practices and games. On a busy day the WORST question my kids can ask is what’s for dinner because I typically have no idea. I love the idea of creating something that is restaurant quality but it’s so intimidating and typically ends in frustration and disappointment for everyone involved.
Charlottesville, Virginia is a destination that has been on my radar for a while thanks to Brigitte Belanger-Warner. I met Bri at at travel conference a few years ago and she keeps on giving me more reasons to want to come and visit.
I invited her to share more about the Charlottesville area because I wanted you to hear a perspective from someone who lives in the area, who still loves and believes in the local community. I believe that there are more positive stories that need to be told as this city’s narrative continues to move forward.
Living in a house of boys, I knew of Canton, Ohio because of the Pro Football Hall of Fame, but I honestly didn’t know much about what else the city had to offer. To my surprise, Canton can be a great destination even if you are not into football.
A visit to see the Biltmore Estate was on my list for years and I was really excited when we were invited to experience what the Biltmore offered for families during a weekend stay. The Biltmore also happened to be the last destination that my mom was able to visit before she died. She absolutely LOVED her visit there and her face would light up when she would talk about it. I knew that I wanted to experience and get a sense of why it was such a special experience for her.
Zoombezi Bay is a waterpark located next to the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium that is definitely worth checking out. What’s even better is that your admission to Zoombezi Bay gives you access to the Columbus Zoo during the day of your visit.
If you love wine and great food you are in for a treat during “The Generous Pour” event at The Capital Grille.
Middletown, Ohio may not be on your radar of places to visit, but I was pleasantly surprised to discover several gems to add to your list there.
When we were planning our MidAtlantic RV trip, we knew that we wanted to spend a day in Washington, DC. Logistics with an RV can be a little more challenging in a busy city so I’m sharing how to make your visit as painless as possible.
I love visiting unique places in a city that you can’t replicate anywhere else. I did not expect to find so many in downtown Des Moines. The next time you visit Iowa, you will want to add these destinations to your list. [Read more…]
