2 Simple 4 Ingredient Afterschool Snacks

My boys are ALWAYS hungry when they get home from school. It can be challenging to have something ready for them that is both healthy and filling.

When it comes to recipes, I like simple and easy to make. I’ve got two recipes that you can easily make before your kids get home with ingredients that you probably already have in your pantry.

I slightly modified recipes from the Shamrock Farms website with Roxie’s Midday Menu, which features protein-packed, delicious snacks that pair perfectly with the refreshing single serve milk varieties.

The recipes are healthy, simple to make and sure to please kids of all ages.

4 Ingredient Cereal Bars

 4 Ingredient Cereal Bars

Ingredients

  • 8 oz honey
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon
  • 3 cups toasted O-shaped whole grain oat cereal
  • 5th optional ingredient -1/4 cup dried fruit (optional)

Directions

In a sauce pan over medium heat, stir peanut butter, honey and cinnamon together for 2-3 minutes. Pour mixture over cereal and stir.

Mix in dried fruit (if using).

Spread cereal mixture into baking pan. Refrigerate or freeze until firm (about 1 hour). Cut into bars and serve, enjoy with Shamrock Farms milk!

Pair with a single serving of Shamrock Farms milk.

I’m happy to report that both afterschool snacks were mom simplified tested and kid approved.

You can find more recipe ideas from the Shamrock Farms website.

Shamrock Farms recently launched their single serve protein-packed regular, chocolate and strawberry milk in Walmart’s nationwide. As part of the single serve milk debut in Walmart stores, Shamrock Farms is aiming to help and inspire busy moms and dads to shake up their families’ afternoon/after school snack routine.
