Grapevine, Texas, is known as the “Christmas Capital of Texas.” With 1400+ holiday events, over 40 days, they take that title seriously!
Many of their holiday events aren’t just for kids. You’ll find that many of these holiday-themed adventures are great for a date night or evening out with friends, too.

Thanks again to Visit Grapevine for hosting my visit. All opinions are my own. This article contains affiliate links.
Downtown Holiday Charm in Grapevine
A historic downtown that’s beautifully decorated for both day and night. Wander down the streets, and you will find great restaurants, unique shops, and holiday cheer all around you.

Explore the Arts & Make Art
You can explore art in more ways than one in Grapevine. Stop into one of the galleries on Main Street to see works from artists around the country.

The Great American West Gallery is inside a historic building that was previously a bank from 1920-1946. You can even view art inside the former bank vault.
The gallery specializes in bronze sculptures and paintings depicting the American West of the past and present.

Another stop along Main Street, conveniently connected to the Bingham Winery tasting room, is the Giddens Gallery of Fine Art.
The gallery is filled with original art from local and regional artists.
Create Your Own Work of Art
You can create your own holiday-themed art during a Paint with a Twist class. Don’t worry, they will walk you through it step by step.
You can even bring your own wine to help you relax a little more easily while you work on your masterpiece. Even though everyone is working on the same concept, the final results will vary a bit.
Each person in the class makes a one-of-a-kind gift or memento.
Make A Glass Ornament at Vetro Glassblowing
Another holiday bucket list adventure is at Vetro Glassblowing, where you can help create a glass-blown ornament.
You select the colors for your ornament and then assist the glass artists as you witness the behind-the-scenes transformation from start to finish.
I LOVED getting so close to the creative process, and you have a beautiful ornament to take home that you helped create.

Enjoy a Wine Tasting at Bingham Family Winery
There are 7 wine tasting rooms to experience in Grapevine.
During my visit, I stopped at the Tasting Room downtown for Bingham Family Winery. Bingham Vineyards are located in the Texas High Plains about 4 hours away.
I enjoyed a few glasses of their award-winning wine, Dugout, an oak-aged multi-year blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Cabernet Franc, along with a shared cheese tray.

“Visit Grapevine” Executive Director, Paul McCallum, shared more about the wines and why he was so proud to be a part of the Grapevine Community.
He shared, “To be a great place to visit, you must first be a great place to live.”
Enjoy Guilt-Free Chocolate at Dr. Sue’s Chocolate
Taste your way through Dr. Sue’s Chocolate without any guilt since all of her products are made with all-natural dark chocolate.
Dr. Sue is a practicing physician dedicated to helping others live healthier lives. Her chocolates offer more nutritious options and ingredients, and dedicate a large portion to giving back to the community.
One of my favorites was the Hazelnut Toffee Bark. It was made with crunchy hazelnut toffee and fleur de sel, which was coated with smooth dark chocolate and topped with toasted hazelnuts.
It was hard to pick a favorite because each flavor is sooo good!
I highly recommend sampling a few, and don’t forget to check out the hot chocolate bar. The Mexican Hot Chocolate was my favorite.

Solve A Mystery at Texas Star Dinner Theater
Share a meal with lots of laughs as you try to figure out whodunnit at the Texas Star Dinner Theater. Your table will work together to solve the mystery and name the murderer. The ending changes often, so you can come back again and still be surprised.
Speaking of surprises, I typically order meat dishes, but I decided to order the Eggplant Parmesan.
The dish was topped with marinara sauce, mozzarella, and parmesan cheeses, drizzled with a balsamic glaze,
It was so good that I almost forgot that it was a vegetarian dish. This is a great adventure to mix up a night out with friends. The actors will also remind you that the more you drink, the funnier they get.
Frozen Fun at ICE at the Gaylord Texan Resort
Bundle up and get ready for an icy indoor adventure at ICE! at the Gaylord Texan Resort.
There are more than 2 million pounds of hand-carved themed ice sculptures located throughout a 14,000-square-foot exhibit hall, carved by over 40 ice sculptors.
The exhibit provides you with a heavy parka before you enter the 9-degree winter wonderland, but it doesn’t have pockets, so make sure that you bring gloves, and you will definitely want to wear closed-toed shoes!

Another unique adventure for guests 21+ is located inside ICE at the On the Blocks Ice Bar, where guests can drink an adult beverage inside a unique frozen setting.
You can also snow tube inside or enjoy ice skating for an additional fee.
The ice slide isn’t just for kids, and I’ll give you a tip for going down: try to slide on your parka as much as possible, or you will go down super slow. (I speak from experience)
