I love trying new adventures and I was excited to learn about an adventure that was located close to me that had a unique twist.
I’ve tried go-karts before but I had never raced using an electric go-kart. We decided that my son’s birthday would be the perfect day to try out XhilaRacing Indoor Electric Go Karting.
The process for your 1st visit is pretty simple. You don’t need a reservation before your visit.
You register at the kiosk with your information and fill out an online waiver. You are then assigned a race number with payment at the front desk.
For future visits, you are given a card that you can use with your waiver information on it.
Before our race started, we decided to check out the game room and party area that is used for birthday parties and corporate events.
What makes XhilaRacing unique is that their indoor go-karts are electric.
These go-karts can reach speeds up to 45 mph for adults and kids can reach speeds up to 25-30 mph on their races.
These karts adjust which makes them comfortable for both adult and youth drivers. (My husband who is 6’4 really appreciated this feature.)
One of the biggest things I noticed was how quiet the go karts were! The loudest sounds were coming from braking on the corners. These karts don’t have exhaust which means they are environmentally friendly and don’t emit chemicals into the air which is nice if you are a spectator.
My husband and I opted to race in the adult heat because we could go faster speeds than if we joined the kids’ heat. (It was also fun to watch them race and easier to get pictures)
The 1/4 race track offers a great mix of tight turns and long straights. The 8-minute race feels longer than you would expect.
Before you race, you watch a safety instructional video and pick out a helmet. I loved that they had pink helmet options.
There are various flag signals to look for during your race that also aid each driver to have the safest experience possible.
Kids need to be at least 8 years old and at least 48 inches tall to race.
We forgot to look at our race times which was probably good because I hate to admit that my husband beat me on the race track that day. My boys were excited to check their times after the race.
Our family had a great time at XhilaRacing. This is a fun adventure with the family, a night out with friends, or on a date.
