Northwest New Mexico has a lot to offer when it comes to outdoor adventure. I’m sharing a few of my favorite discoveries that are bucket list worthy to add to your adventure list.
I LOVE to experience unique overnights. Overnight in a Treehouse. Check. Museum. Check. Submarine. Check. Aquarium. Check. Tepee. Check. Kings Island Amusement Park. Check…..so when I found out that the Cincinnati Zoo offered family overnights where you can sleep in African Safari style tents near the giraffe area, I had to check it out!
If you are looking for great dining experience with friends or family, Hofbrauhaus Newport has you covered. Located directly across the Ohio River from Cincinnati, Ohio, you will find a large selection of German beers and Bavarian-style cuisine.
If you live in the Cincinnati Metro, you don’t have to travel far for your own Water Wipeout experience. Land of Illusion has been making people scream for years during their Haunt Season but at their newest summer attraction, Aqua Adventures, the only screams you’ll hear are pure JOY!
I enjoy the nature side of camping but over the years, I’ve decided that I’m not a huge fan of the work that can come along with traditional camping…which is why I really enjoy glamping. Glamping still allows you to connect with nature but it also provides you with a unique overnight with modern conveniences. Our retro camper rental from Route Fifty Campers took the stress out of our camping experience.
El Paso, Texas is ones of those cities that I instantly fell in love with. The landscape is so different from what I see in the Midwest and yet it had a few similarities. I live in a Tri-State area where it is common to cross state borders daily and El Paso’s location is a Tri-city with access to both New Mexico and Juarez, Mexico. It almost feels like it’s own distinct place because the landscape is so different from the flatter parts of the Texas.
You don’t have to be a fan of thrill rides to enjoy a visit to Kings Island Amusement Park. There are still plenty of entertainment options for non-riders of all ages.
The Colorado Springs Region offers so much for outdoor enthusiasts of all ages. From unique natural wonders like the Garden of the Gods Park and Pikes Peak creating scenic landscapes that will leave an impression on you for years to come. I got a small glimpse of the area 20+ years ago and there are so many reasons to want to go back!
A conversation with my friend by the pool prompted my curiosity to learn more about what Kings Island Amusement Park offered for guests with special needs. I was sharing about a recent visit to the park and she was wondering if there were resources available for her son with Down Syndrome. This is an issue very close to my heart as someone who had a sibling with special needs and as someone with several friends who have children with special needs.
Sliding Rock is a 60-foot natural waterslide located within the Pisgah National Forest in North Carolina that is fun for all ages.
