During a recent trip to Grand Rapids, Michigan, I visited Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
Several people had told me that it was a beautiful place to visit around the holidays. A visit to the Frederik Meijer Gardens is also a tradition that a lot of families look forward to each year.
Fredrik Meijer Garden has an incredible display of art inside and out. The sculpture park is beautifully landscaped and offers walking trails and a children’s area.
During the holiday season, you can enjoy Christmas Trees from around the world. Each tree is decorated to reflect the country that it is representing.
It was really interesting to read about how people celebrate the holidays around the world.
“This year, Christmas and Holiday Traditions Around the World celebrates 19 years of bringing holiday joy to West Michigan with a special focus on the role nature and natural materials play in cultural traditions. With more than 42 cultural trees and displays, Santa, reindeer, carolers, carriage rides and the much-loved Railway Garden, this annual exhibition delights guests of all ages.”
Holiday Train Display
All ages will enjoy the train display that travels into several areas of the gardens.
There are also Grand Rapids area attractions on display that were recreated with natural materials.
The indoor gardens in the tropical conservatory showcase plants that will have you dreaming of warmer climates.
During your visit, you can also see a lot of interesting art that will challenge you to think outside the box.
I enjoyed my visit. I definitely want to go back to walk the Sculpture park trails outside again when the weather is a little warmer.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park is located at 1000 East Beltline Ave NE, Grand Rapids Charter Township, MI 49525.
