Pigeon Forge, Tennesee has plenty of options when it comes to fun things to do for families of all ages…even when the weather outside doesn’t cooperate.
So what is there to do in Pigeon Forge on a rainy day?
1. Try Indoor Skydiving at Flyaway Indoor Skydiving
3106 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
The perfect adventure for thrill-seekers, indoor skydiving gives you the thrill of flying without the risk of jumping out of a plane.
Flyaway Indoor Skydiving is America’s First Vertical Wind Tunnel and even makes skydiving family-friendly for guests who weigh at least 40 pounds.
The experience is very safe, my son even tried it with me, and it’s very FUN!
2. Play in the Snow Indoors at Pigeon Forge Snow
2533 Teaster Ln, Pigeon Forge, TN
No matter what the weather is outside, the inside remains around 60-70 degrees year-round at Pigeon Forge Snow.
The best part is that you don’t need snow pants or gloves while you are racing family and friends down the indoor tubing hill.
In addition to indoor tubing, you can also play in the Snow Play area.
3. Learn More About True Crimes at Alcatraz East Crime Museum
2757 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
This museum takes on 5 perspectives on crime with the criminal profiles, victim’s stories, crime prevention, the justice system, and law enforcement.
If you or someone that you know is fascinated by true crimes, the Alcatraz East Crime Museum will definitely pique your interest with 25,000 sq ft of hands-on exhibits containing lots of information on American crime history.
4. Explore with Hands-On Play at Wonderworks
100 Music Rd, Pigeon Forge, TN
Guests of all ages will enjoy exploring all 35,000 sq. feet of the education-entertainment fusion with more than 100 hands-on exhibits.
Trust me this place is still REALLY FUN for adults!
You could easily spend the whole day at Wonderworks and the activities inside (exhibits, 4D XD Motion Theater, Laser Tag, and the Glow in the dark Ropes Course) are included in the general admission price instead of adding additional fees.
I would recommend dressing comfortably in layers because you can work up a sweat and make sure that you wear close-toed shoes so that you can do the ropes course.
5. Relive History on the Titanic Museum Attraction
2134 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
Get a greater understanding and empathy for the passengers who were on board the Titanic at the Titanic Museum Attraction.
You will see priceless artifacts and learn more about the fascinating stories of people who were on the ship from all walks of life.
A few of the museum highlights include touching an iceberg, trying to stand on the sloping deck, and walking on the Grand Staircase.
6. Try An Escape Room Challenge at The Escape Game Pigeon Forge
131 The Island Dr Suite 9139, Pigeon Forge, TN
You have 60 minutes to work together as a team to solve the challenges and escape.
I’ve tried several of the Escape Game rooms in Cincinnati and I’m so impressed with their creativity and detail in each themed room.
You will definitely get more out of this adventure and have more fun if you participate and play along with the storyline.
Pay attention and look for clues EVERYWHERE in the room and the odds are REALLY good that you will escape in time.
7. Enjoy Live-Action Role-Play Fun at MagiQuest
2491 Parkway, Pigeon Forge, TN
The perfect attraction for anyone who enjoys live-action interactive role-play, MagiQuest takes players on an adventure into a fantasy world that uses magic wands and clues that help solve the mysteries of the game.
During your MagiQuest game make sure that you find all of the items in your mission before moving on to another challenge or you won’t get credit for that mission.
For the best value for all four adventures onsite take advantage of the Ultimate Combo Adventure Package.
8. Strike a Pose at the Hollywood Wax Museum
106 Showplace Blvd Unit A, Pigeon Forge, TN
Take a picture with your favorite celebrity at the Hollywood Wax Museum.
You’ll be amazed at how lifelike the wax figures are. I had to take a double-take at several of the celebrities in the wax museum.
Photos are highly encouraged and props are located throughout the museum so that you can really get into character with your favorite famous television, movie stars, and singers.
9. Watch a Live Show in Pigeon Forge
Pigeon Forge has lots of entertainment options when it comes to shows.
Make it a combo and enjoy a dinner show at Dolly Parton’s Stampede, the Hatfield & McCoy Dinner Show, or the Pirates Voyage Dinner & Show.
Pigeon Forge also has magic shows (Magic Beyond Belief and The Wonders of Magic) that will have you wondering, “How did they do that???!!!!”
For great music great out the Smoky Mountain Opry, or Country Tonite Theater or get your laughs at the Comedy Barn Theater
10. Eat Pancakes
No visit to Pigeon Forge is complete without a stack of delicious pancakes. You’ll find great restaurants serving pancakes on both sides of the strip for breakfast.
A few of my personal recommendations are Frizzle Chicken Farmhouse Cafe (try the cinnamon roll pancake) and Flapjack’s Pancake Cabin.
Thanks again to My Pigeon Forge for hosting some of these adventures.
