I was invited to check out the new menu at Jimmy Buffett’s Margaritaville located at the Horseshoe Casino in Cincinnati.
This was my first time visiting Horseshoe Casino. During a visit, guests can choose outdoor seating with a view or indoor dining.
Inside dining gives you a fun atmosphere with bright colors, palm trees and laid back music.
Guest can enter through the casino or if you have guests under 21 there is an outside entrance as well. We started off by trying the margaritas. There is something for everyone on the drink menu.
Next, we tried several appetizers.
Grilled Shrimp Skewers
(Jerk-glazed shrimp dusted with sugared coconut served with pineapple)
They were perfectly seasoned to perfection and the piece of pineapple was delicious.
White Cheddar Cheese Curds
These were served with Landshark BBQ and marinara sauce.
Carne Asada Steak Quesadillas
(Grilled flour tortilla, Oaxaca and Monterey Jack cheese served with lime crema, guacamole, and pico de gallo)
“Drunken” Shrimp Skillet
(Sauteed with tequila key lime butter, roasted garlic, onions, and peppers with mini baguettes)
Everything is better with butter and this skillet proved it!
Asiago Crab Dip
(Lump crabmeat in a sharp asiago cheese and artichoke cream served with grilled crostini)
For entrees we tried.
My friend ordered the Cheddar BBQ Burger. (Topped with cheddar cheese, Applewood-smoked bacon, fried onions, lettuce and BBQ aioli. She opted for the sweet potato fries.
I ordered the Seafood Mac & Cheese. (Shrimp and lump crabmeat with cavatappi pasta in a Boursin Cream sauce) This dish is rich and sooooooo good! I had to box up some of mine but was excited about the leftovers the following day.
My husband ordered the grilled fish tacos. (Crisply fried in Margaritaville’s Landshark batter, topped with avacado, cilantro lime coleslaw and key lime crema.)
My friend’s boyfriend got Jimmy’s Jammin’ Jambalaya. ( Cajun rice loaded with shrimp, chicken and Andouille sausage simmered in a spicy broth.) He said it had a great mix of spice and flavor.
For dessert we tried the Chocolate Hurricane.
(Vanilla bean ice cream served with brownies, Kit Kat, Heath bars, pirouette and mini shortbread cookies, sliced banana, whipped cream and chopped macadamia nuts)
Be warned this dessert is HUGE!
The servers pour chocolate and carmel sauces table side as your dessert swivels around.
We also tried a few bites of the key lime pie that was delicious!
We didn’t try the Volcano nachos but they looked amazing and I had to get a pic of our fun server!
Our portions were large and several of us got to enjoy leftovers the following day.
Margaritaville was a fun date night out. The food tasted great and the atmosphere made us almost forget that we were in the midwest.
Check out the Margaritaville website to find a location near you.
