Midweek Date Adventures at Liberty Center

Midweek Date Adventures

You don’t have to wait until the weekend for an excuse to go on a date with your significant other. I love when you can make an ordinary day more interesting by trying something new.

My husband has midweek days off from time to time and we try to take advantage of them whenever possible. We decided to try a few new adventures during our recent visit to Liberty Center.

Inside Cantina Laredo

Dine somewhere new

It’s easy to get into a dining rut by visiting the familiar favorites. Why not switch it up and go somewhere that you’ve never been to before?

We decided to dine at Cantina Laredo for the 1st time for a late lunch. I tried a few of their new menu items that were both wonderful! Carne Asada (Grilled skirt steak with house marinated onions on a bed of chimichurri sauce with whole roasted jalapeno, avocado, black beans and cilantro lime rice) and the “Wild Flip” to drink that was made with Wild Turkey Bourbon, Monin Blood Orange Syrup, fresh lemon and simple syrup, topped with a Wild Turkey, orange zest, mint leaf and Bordeaux cherry lime boat. I would not typically order the Carne Asada but I’m so glad that I did! It had a wonderful blend of flavors.

We took our time during our meal to savor every bite and even mustered enough space in our stomach to share the Mango Tres Leches cake for dessert made with creamy mango vanilla cake with mango cream sauce…..in the name of research. It was our first visit but it will definitely not be our last!

shops at Liberty Center

Find your favorite shop

After lunch we took our time to look at a few of the stores. We’ve been married a long time and decided to divide and conquer for a bit so that we could each spend time in the stores that we were interested in. Find what works for you. Some people love to shop with others and some people enjoy shopping on a mission without distractions. Find what works for you. Trust me. Our shopping experience was WAY more enjoyable because we spent time where we wanted to. Sometimes the best gift is temporarily not shopping with each other.

Farmers Market Liberty Center

Check out the Farmers Market

We visited Liberty Center on Tuesday which also happens to be the day that the Farmer’s Market takes place all summer long from 3-7 pm in the square. There were lots of local vendors onsite with a variety of items for sale ranging from food to unique gifts. This is a wonderful way to support local businesses.

Coopers Hawk wine tasting

Enjoy a Wine Tasting

Our final adventure was a wine tasting at Cooper’s Hawk Winery and Restaurant.  For only $7 per person you can enjoy a tasting that include seven to eight different wines. The grapes for the wine come from California, Washington, Oregon, and other grape-growing regions around the country. I love tastings because you can discover the flavors that are your favorite before you buy the bottle. You can receive a discount if you join their Wine Club. If you are eating at the restaurant, you can even purchase a bottle in the tasting room and drink it in the restaurant that offers both indoor and outdoor seating. Walk ins for the tasting room are welcome and you don’t need a reservation which makes it perfect for those of us who tend to be more spontaneous.
