During my social media trip with Positively Cleveland, we visited an indoor/outdoor market that is a must for any foodie! The West Side Market in Cleveland is a destination that locals and guests from out of town love to visit.
My first observation upon arrival was that the building had beautiful architecture inside and out.
Upon closer observation, you could see the story of the building’s intention on the walls and ceiling.
The largest area of the market has a beautiful tiled ceiling.
My second observation was that the market was HUGE!!
The West Side Market dates back to 1840 and is Cleveland’s oldest public market.
There is a large section for produce outside and inside.
During your visit you can purchase anything you need for your meal of choice.
The market has a buzz about it with over one million estimated visitors last year, the market is on the list of things to do for tourist and locals alike.
The hardest part during a visit is deciding between all of the amazing options.
There are more than 180 vendors to chose from.
You can select food from a variety of ethnicities and enjoy a large variety of fresh produce, meats, seafood, dairy and bakery items.
While you are in the area there is another point of interest nearby. A block away from the West Side Market is Ohio City Farm.
“The Ohio City Farm is designed to incubate entrepreneurial farm businesses and support workforce development programs. Ohio City Farm provides urban farmers with low-cost land, shared facilities and technical assistance and is designed to develop and support entrepreneurial farmers. Incubator farm tenants are expected to run economically viable businesses and provide financial information on their operations.”
The West Side Market is located at 1979 W 25th St., Cleveland, OH
