7 Ways to Get Healthier and Save Money

7 Ways to Get Healthier and Save Money

A big part of a healthy lifestyle comes down to a plan that works for your life. I’m sharing tips for simple ways to get healthier AND save money.

1. Plan Your Meals for the Week

A big part of planning your meals is being realistic with your calendar. On evenings that I have back to back practices and games with the kids, I need easy meals that don’t require a lot of time or prep. Look in your pantry and freezer and take inventory of what items you have so that you don’t buy unnecessary duplicates.

2. Make a List and Stick to it When you Grocery Shop

Stay on budget and avoid those junk food impulse buys when you stay focused and eat before you grocery shop. Not only is planning your meals smart, but it prevents you from eating out since you already have food in the fridge.

3. Sneak in Fruits and Veggies

Use frozen fruits and veggies to stretch your budget even further to keep from spoiling. Smoothies add lots of health benefits like fat burning, better digestion, and they are full of antioxidants which increases your overall health. You can find a basic blender for under $15 from Walmart and check for additional cashback savings when you go through TopCashBack.com.

4. Stay Hydrated

It’s important to drink lots of water all day long. You will save money and calories when you are dining out and if you drink water 30 minutes prior to every meal you will feel more full which will help you eat less. If you don’t naturally enjoy water consider using an infuser water bottle where you can add your favorite fruits and keep track of your daily water intake.

5. Shop with Coupons and Deals

Use discounts for products and services that you already use. Want to try a fitness class? Why not check if they have a free introductory class for first-time guests or a Groupon.  If you’re considering meal supplements or vitamins, check out TopCashback.com’s dieting and nutrition section. You can get cashback deals on health and wellness items, including up to eight percent cashback at GNC and four percent at Vitacost. Money-off and free shipping coupons are often available with these retailers to trim costs further too.

6. Listen to Music

Find the songs or bands that pump you up and you will be able to exercise longer and harder. Use a Wireless headset for increased mobility.

7. Sneak in Exercise While You Work or Play

I’m a big fan of multitasking whenever possible. You can burn calories at your desk at work with the mini cycle exercise bike that can fit under your desk. The Work Fit Stationary bike is my FAVORITE at home product because I can work on my laptop and burn calories at the same time. As someone who spends A LOT of time on their computer for work, this is seriously a game changer!  The computer doesn’t slide or move on the desktop and I have two cup holders. I can also use it while I’m catching up on one of my favorite shows.

Make time for exercise whenever you can. You can sneak it into your day if you don’t have time in your schedule to dedicate a longer period of time. Take a walk during your lunch break, do a few stretches and pushups when you wake up and if you can’t exercise at work make a plan for before or after. Have you bag ready with exercise clothes so that you don’t have any excuses. Find activities that you enjoy that make exercising fun.

Save Even More

You can save even more using Top Cash Back before each purchase on your favorite online sites by going to their website first. I’ve used it several times and it works! A percentage of the purchase is returned to you as a cash back rebate when you complete your purchase with any one of their 4,000+ merchants. It’s just like using a coupon, except all money is earned after the purchase has been successfully tracked.
