Every now and then I enjoy mixing up our accommodations when we visit a city. We decided that a Bed and Breakfast would be a nice change of pace during our overnight visit to Bulter County, Ohio.
On my way to Erie, Pennsylvania, I had a few hours to stop and visit with my friend Tonya. She is a travel writer and an amazing person. We met in Mansfield, Ohio and while I was there she gave me a quick tour of the area.
The Days are LONG, but the years are FAST!
Someone said that phrase to me and I think about how true it is often, especially when I see someone with a baby. It’s now truer to me as I think about how my sons’ middle and high school years will be over in the blink of an eye. Their older years seem to be moving so much faster than their earlier ones. That also means that before I know it, they will be moving into adulthood and I will be entering into another new season.
If you are a parent with kids in sports or any extracurricular activity for that matter, you know how challenging it can be to juggle schedules and meals between practices and games. On a busy day the WORST question my kids can ask is what’s for dinner because I typically have no idea. I love the idea of creating something that is restaurant quality but it’s so intimidating and typically ends in frustration and disappointment for everyone involved.
It’s hard to believe that my oldest son is only a few months away from driving a car. We recently looked through his baby album and recalled the day when we brought him home from the hospital for the first time. It was so intimidating to know that we were responsible for protecting and caring for another human being.
I’m not ready for you to be over. I thought that we had more time to be together.

I briefly homeschooled my boys for a few months after a few years of job changes with multiple moves across state lines because I didn’t want to put my boys through another transition so quickly with just moving to a new city.
