You Need to Make a Stop in Louisville to Try Hi-Five Doughnuts

You Need to Make a Stop in Louisville to Try Hi Five Doughnuts 6

It doesn’t take much to persuade me to stop for a sweet treat….which is why a spontaneous last minute stop to check out Hi-Five Doughnuts was totally worth it!

The Inspiration

I first learned about Hi-Five Doughnuts from a Travel Channel video on facebook.

I tend to save videos like this to add to my neverending list of adventures to try and places to visit. We were approaching downtown Louisville on the expressway when I recalled the video and we determined that we had enough margin to still get to our final destination with this quick detour….because…donuts!

Hi-Five Doughnuts is Louisville’s first female owned and operated doughnut food truck and storefront where customers can build their own custom donut choosing from a variety of glazes and toppings. You can also choose from their assortment of custom and specialty doughnuts too.

A few of their most popular ones are the Kentucky Fried Buttermilk Chicken Doughnut, the Bourbon Caramel with Bacon, and their Sugah Doughnut.

What We Ordered

So this is what happens when you are curious and spontaneous.

Kentucky fried Buttermilk chicken doughnut ….and I had them add their Bourbon Carmel sauce on top.

It was everything I had hoped for and more…and yes I ate all of it…in the name of research.

My friend opted for half Bourbon Carmel sauce/ half Chocolate with coconut.

It was also a hit!

Hi Five Doughnuts

Take Homes

My friend and I also had to order some of their doughnuts to go for our families because we felt a little guilty keeping this gem all to ourselves. They were extra excited to see us when we got home.

I totally understand if you feel the need to make a trip to Louisville.

You can find more information on Hi-Five Doughnuts here.

Area Roadside Attractions

While we were downtown, I had to show my friend a few of my favorite roadside attractions on Main Street. The Statue of David in front of the 21C Hotel and the World’s largest baseball bat in front of the Louisville Slugger Museum.
