I have fond memories of watching the Cincinnati Cyclones while I was in high school. Moving back to the area has given us the opportunity to now share the experience of a Cyclones game with our kids. You don’t have to be a huge hockey fan to enjoy a Cyclones game.
I’m a usually a “few token games a year” type of sports fan and hockey is always really enjoyable for me to watch. I think it’s even better live in person than on tv. I love that it’s fast moving and always has a lot of action. It also gives you an excuse to wear a face mask made out of foam.
There is typically some type of promotion or special at each game. I suggest getting there early if you want to receive one of the limited giveaways at the door. Our kids received free Cyclones t-shirts courtesy of Rumke for Kids Jersey T shirt night.
The Cyclones do a great job of keeping the attention span of all interest levels. There was great music during breaks to dance to and every intermissions had a fun game that involves the crowd.
Every now and then you might see a fight but the refs do not let it get too far out of hand.
There is also the adorable mascot named Twister.
He would probably not like that I called him adorable but he is.
We got to share our suite and our fun evening with a few other local bloggers. Ann blogs at Ann I am and Amy is a contributor for Family Friendly Cincinnati and also blogs at In a galaxy far far away You should definitely check out their sites if you haven’t been to them yet.
If you are looking for a unique birthday party experience you can rent out a private suite for $400. You receive 18 tickets, 2 parking passes, a birthday puck, 1 birthday card, your child’s name on the video board and a visit from Twister. Your suite is decorated and you’re are provided invitations for your guest and a concierge for your party. Beverages, food and birthday cake are an additional fee and can be ordered from a variety of items from the menu list. It’s a great way to not have to worry about cooking or cleaning up.
Check out the Cyclones schedule at their website to plan your next hockey adventure.
