It’s a pretty rare occasion when you can get 3 college friends together for a weekend from 3 different states. You could say it happens once every blue moon.
Well, ironically that weekend did have a blue moon and we somehow pulled off our schedules to make it work.
Our stay at Lake N’ Pines Lodge B & B exceeded my expectations. The location is nestled in Interlochen and the property is one of a handful of residences that are on Lake Dubonnet. The 1000 acre lake is a wildlife sanctuary that is surrounded by 6000 acres of the Pere Marquette State Forest.
One of the perks of staying at Lake N’ Pines Lodge is that you can use the canoes, kayaks and rowboats on the property.
The property has 4 diverse accomadations. We stayed in the “Pines Nature Cottage” which had two bedrooms, private bath, kitchen, living/dining room and a private deck with a grill.
The main area has a nice deck with a hot tub that you can also use.
The following day my friends and I woke up early for a sunrise paddle on the water. The sunrise wasn’t very dramatic but the scenery was still so beautiful and peaceful.
We came back just in time for breakfast that was delievered to our room. When you arrive, you fill out a breakfast form the night before.
You can chose from several different menu options for your breakfast and whether you want complimentary room service or if you want to eat in the common dining room.
The first morning we made a strategy to each order something different so that we could sample and share.
You really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu. EVERYTHING was delicious! I ended up trying the same exact meal both mornings which was Eggs Benedict with sweet potatoes and bacon.
The hospitality at Lake N’ Pines was also great. The hosts were available for any questions that we had. They even offer a variety of food, outdoor and seasonal packages that can cater to your interests all year round.
The central location puts Lake N’ Pines only 35 minutes from Sleeping Bear Dunes and about 20 minutes to Downtown Traverse City. Lake N’ Pines is a great place for a girlfriend or couples getaway. This is a place that you will want to remember when you are considering an up north vacation.
You can find out more about Lake N’ Pines Lodge from their website.

These photos are amazing. I particularly love the one with the oar hovered over the lake, the ripples on the water and the sunset in the background… such a calming photo, I’d want that on my wall!
Thanks for linking up to #CheckOutThatView
Looks like a great weekend! I love the lily pads and water shots a lot.
