If you are looking for a unique dining experience as winter approaches, you need to check out the rooftop igloo bar at Braxton Brewing Company.
The outdoor space for the igloos provides a fun evening out with friends or makes a date night a little more magical with views of the city in the background.

Thanks again to Braxton Brewing Company for hosting our visit. All opinions are my own.

Braxton Brewing Company is a popular rooftop establishment during the summer months and their outdoor igloos definitely make the winter months a little more enjoyable.

The “IGLOOBAR” on the rooftop of Braxton Brewing Company consists of a rooftop bar and 10 plastic igloos with comfortable seating and cozy decor.

How Many People Can the Igloo Hold?
There is a maximum of 8 people per igloo for ages 21 and up and there are 10 igloos available to rent.
You’ll need to rent an additional igloos for private parties larger than 8. All igloos are pet-free and smoke-free. So keep your kids and pets at home.
All of the igloos at the Igloo bar are socially distanced and sanitized between each use.

Inside the Igloo
The inside of the igloo is cozy with cushioned seating, a table in the center and a few additional chairs along the edges. There are a few blankets provided if you get cold during your visit. Igloo guests can also request a dedicated Bluetooth speaker.
It’s a great environment to catch up with friends or you could even bring your own board games or cards to play during your time together.

We had a few last minute cancellations in our group and still had a great time!

Check out the living wall on the rooftop if you are looking for a great photo spot with a large group.

Do the Igloos Have Heaters?
Each heated igloo comes with a small radiator heater.
There are some throw blankets provided in the igloo, but they encourage guests to dress warm on cold evenings. You can also bring your own blankets if you want to.
There aren’t any fire pits on the rooftop so you can just stay warm inside your igloo.

We had mild temperatures outside with steady rain during our visit but the temperature inside the igloo was just right…not too hot and not too cold.

Drink Options at the Igloo Bar at Braxton Brewing Company
No outside alcohol is permitted in the igloos. With 15 craft beer options on tap in addition to 3 wines on tap, Vive hard seltzer, and a limited selection of liquor, there is something for everyone.
You can scan the QR code for the drink menu on your table when you arrive.

There are a few soft drink/ non-alcoholic options available too.

If you don’t typically enjoy beer I’d recommend trying “Wild Berry Pie” and “Roadtrip’ sours or try a Vive hard seltzer.
All drinks and food are ordered at the rooftop bar.

Ask Your Bartender About the Drink Package
If you planning on having several during your visit, you may want to consider their drink package. It’s $30 per person and is unlimited throughout the 2-hour time slot. The drink package excludes liquor but you can also purchase a drink package with liquor with a separate charge.
Everyone in your group needs to collectively choose as a group to either pay-per-drink or to purchase the drink package for obvious reasons… nice try.

Enjoy Food Delivered to Your Igloo From Parlor on Seventh
No outside food is permitted inside the igloo. Igloo dining guests have exclusive food service from a great local Covington restaurant located next door, Parlor on Seventh.

Menus will be available inside of your igloos. After you place your order with the bar staff, the food will be directly delivered to you.

You’ll find plenty of great menu items to choose from. A few recommendations are the Birria tacos, beer cheese and pretzels (order a few, trust me), Candied Onion and Goat cheese flatbread, and the “Dill with it” burger and fries.

If you prefer something lighter, there are two salad options too. We tried the G.O.A.T. salad and it was really good.

Could Your Igloo be Cancelled Due to Bad Weather?
Braxton Brewery keeps the igloos open in all weather including ice, snow, and rain.
The only reason for an igloo to be cancelled due to weather would be if they need to evacuate due to lightning or dangerous high winds.
We wondered the same thing because our igloo time slot was scheduled during a rainy forecast. If you are scheduled during a downpour, you may want to bring an umbrella for the walk from the elevator to your igloo or the restroom on the rooftop.

How Much Does it Cost to Reserve An Igloo at Braxton Brewing Company?
There is a $30 reservation fee to hold your spot that is a flat fee separate from your bar tab.
If you need to cancel, you can get a full refund up to 48 hours prior to your time slot.
To reserve, select your preferred date and time and follow the steps below. We ask for a $30 reservation fee to hold your spot. In the event of a cancellation, you will be fully refunded the $30 up until 48 hours prior to your time slot.
Weekend time slots for weekend evenings and weekend nights are very popular. I would recommend trying to book your preferred date in advance or choose one of the weekday time slots or weekday nights.
You can reserve an igloo at the igloo bar from the Braxton Brewing Company website.

How Long Can You Reserve an Igloo at Braxton Brewing Company For?
The time slot for an igloo is 2.5 hours with 2 hours of drink service within that time slot.
If you want to book an igloo with an additional 2- hour time slot, you need to book two separate back to back reservations.
FYI- There is no discount for booking two consecutive slots and in between those time slots service is suspended while staff clean and prep for the next group.
Igloo guests need to use the last 30 minutes before their time slots ends to close our their tabs, finish their drinks and gather their belongings so that staff can clean and prep for the next igloo guests.

Hi Nendra,
It was an amazing read! I have been thinking about unwinding and taking a break for a long time, and this amazing rooftop Igloo bar looks amazing! Although I won’t be able to visit this place for some time, I think I will go out and spend some time with my friends. I am glad that you enjoyed this bar, and I will visit it too when I visit. Thanks for sharing your experience, it was fun to read!
