This is the perfect day to visit the National Underground Freedom Center.
Whether you have visited the museum before or it’s your first time, you can learn a lot from your visit.
It’s a little more crowded because of the FREE admission but I still think it’s worth going on that day.
I’ve taken my boys several times on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and it’s a great reminder of how far our country has come.
It’s also a reminder that there are still injustices going on in the world today and we need to be proactive.
There are so many great exhibits and lectures at the National Underground Railroad Freedom Center that open your eyes to the injustice around the world past and present.
There is a short film about the underground railroad that inspired me to visit Ripley, Ohio in person.
The National Underground Railroad Freedom Center is open from 11-5 and FREE on Martin Luther King Jr Day.
**There will also be Hoxworth Blood Center drive from 11 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. in the Discovery Rooms.
