If I’m in a city for a limited amount of time, I want to eat somewhere that is special to that city that I can’t find anywhere else. I asked a local blogger for a unique place to eat in Louisville for our first time meeting each other and Garage Bar was a restaurant toward the top of her list.
This space was a former auto service garage which made it both interesting and instantly cool.
I absolutely LOVED the ambiance there. As soon as you step near the Garage Bar, you can tell it has a casual, laid back atmosphere that people want to hang out at.
You can dine inside or out. We opted to dine in. The pieces selected for the restaurant have so much character and history.
Garage Bar is known for their craft beer and wood fired creative pizzas. Their pizza is 100% homemade with fresh yeast according to their menu. They also have southern inspired food and snacks on the menu too. Their menu changes often according to the season and local ingredients from regional farmers. There were lots of great drink options to choose from and I ordered a honey lavender lemonade because it was something that I’ve never tried before. The drink was very refreshing.
We shared the sweet corn pizza (Corn, bacon, cream, garlic puree, fior di latte & garden basil) It’s not a specialty pizza that I would have normally ordered but the combination with the corn was really delicious.
To finish our meal, we shared a nutella dessert pizza. You can never have too much nutella in your life.
The bathroom is also creative with chalkboard paint that encourages you to write on the walls along with fun floor tile.
Garage Bar is definitely a restaurant that I want to visit again the next time I’m in Louisville.
