One of my favorite forms of social media is Instagram. I LOVE checking out photos of friends and travelers. I also really enjoy taking pictures.

I’ve been a contributor for Cincinnati USA’s Livin In The Cin campaign over the past few months where myself and a few other local bloggers highlight hidden gems in our city.

My third mission from Cincinnati USA was to “Photograph one or more things, places, people, etc. that represent the challenge word given and show off reasons you are excited to live in Cincinnati USA.”

I was given the Challenge Words (water, happy, colorful, energy and history)
It was really hard for me to decide just one picture that could represent each word so I’m sharing with you a few of my favorite instagram pics. I had soooo many to choose from but I narrowed it down to a few for each word.

“Water”

Roebling Bridge Cincinnati Skyline

The reflection of city skyline with the Roebling Bridge looks great at any time of day.

Cincinnati Skyline from BB Riverboat

This picture was taken during a wine cruise with BB Riverboats.

Spring Grove Cemetery and Arboretum Cincinnati Ohio

This image was taken at Spring Grove Cemetery which is absolutely beautiful in the fall.

Mirror Lake Eden Park Cincinnati Ohio

This image was taken at mirror lake in Eden Park which also hosts the Krohn Conservatory and the Cincinnati Art Museum.

“Happy”

University of Cincinnati

My boys LOVE to visit the University of Cincinnati campus to toss the football around.

Washington Park Cincinnati Ohio

Washington Park in Over the Rhine is one of our favorite parks to visit. There is always something fun to do there.

Ziplining at the Creation Museum Petersburg Kentucky

Ziplining at the largest course in the midwest located at Creation Museum created lots of great memories and smiles.

Devou Park Covington Kentucky

The view from Devou Park makes me smile and appreciate the diverse landscape that our tristate area offers.

“Colorful”

Devou Park Covington Kentucky

Another colorful glance at the city skyline from Devou Park.

Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption Covington Kentucky

Cathedral Basilica of the Assumption is a gorgeous display of color with stain glass windows at every angle. I’ve driven by it many times but it’s worth taking the time to really appreciate the inside.

California Woods Nature Preserve Ohio

California Woods Nature Center was a new discovery that I found this fall with lots of trails and beautiful scenery.

Artworks Mural Cincinnati Ohio

The beautiful murals downtown by Artworks artists are what make our downtown buildings shine.

“Energy”

Cincinnati Cyclones hockey

Cyclones games always have tons of action and fun promo nights. These light sabers were a great kick off to a recent Star Wars themed night.

Cincinnati Pops Orchestra

We have an incredible arts community and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra adds so much energy to every performance.

Washington Park Music Hall Cincinnati Ohio

I love that you can find people at Washington Park at all hours. The view of Music Hall is always gorgeous in any light.  I always feel more alive every time I go downtown.

“History”

American Legacy Tour Underground Tour inside a Crypt

Cincinnati has so much history to uncover. We recently went on the Underground Tour by American Legacy Tours and learned so much about our city.

The images above were from a crypt we visited on our tour.

American Legacy Underground Tour Lager tunnel

Beer has also been a huge part of Cincinnat’s history and this former lager tunnel has so many interesting stories.

American Legacy Underground Tour church Over the Rhine Cincinnati

This beautiful old church is being brought back to life with another purpose in the Over the Rhine neighborhood.

Cincinnati Museum Center Union Terminal

Cincinnati Museum Center Union Terminal Rotunda

The art deco facade of the Cincinnati Museum Center at Union Terminal offers history inside and out plus three great museums inside.

These pictures are just a small sample of all of the reasons that I love Livin in the Cin.

You can still join in on the fun and share your favorite images with the hashtag #LivinInTheCin

Which picture was your favorite? I would love to hear from you.

Wow Tony! Thank you so much for taking the time to share that! It really means a lot! Instagram is one of my favorite social media platforms because of its creative culture. My mom was an artist and I hope to pass on her legacy by capturing art all around me.
