A day trip to QC NY Spa is a must during a visit to New York City! This luxury spa isn’t just for New Yorkers.
City dwellers and travelers will enjoy exploring the entire spa featuring wellness experiences and spectacular views of downtown Manhattan.
I’m sharing more about what to expect at QC NY Spa on Governors Island before you go.
Enjoy the Breathtaking Manhattan Skyline Views
One of my favorite things about our visit to QC NY Spa was the beautiful view of downtown Manhattan from the outdoor thermal pools.
During my research of QC NY’s Spa the pictures of the outdoor heated pools with a view made me want to check out this special place for myself.
My visits to New York City are pretty full throttle, trying to cram in as much as possible over several days.
I knew we would have a great time relaxing at all of the lounge areas and spa experiences.
I loved the idea of slowing down for a few hours while enjoying the spa amenities and experiencing the city a different way from the vantage point of the gorgeous grounds.

The renovations to the historic buildings took years of planning to transform it to a new destination day spa with a curated personality.

You can book your session online and you’ll be asked to sign a waiver upon arrival.
What to Pack for QC NY Spa
All guests are required to wear swimsuits while enjoying the spa. It’s also recommended to bring sunscreen, sunglasses, and a valid ID.
If you decide to get your hair wet in the outdoor pools there are Dyson hair dryers available to use.
QC Spa provides plastic bags to store and transport your wet swimsuit afterwards.
There are showers and cosmetic products available to use as you redress but you might want to bring your own hair products if you have a preference.
I would also bring a hair tie or clips to keep your hair up if you don’t want to get it wet.
Pro Tip for QC NY Spa
Pay attention to the colored dot that you’re assigned for your robe and flip flops.
It’s very easy to take someone else’s flip flops or robe on accident when there are several places near each other.
I say this as someone who had their robe taken on accident by someone else in the spa.
Just be aware of the color block on the back of your robe when you hang it up and where you place it on the hooks.

We were are QC NY Spa for a 3 hour session. It was a great amount of time and I could see how people could easily spend the whole day there especially if you have a massage booked.
Our session was during sunset which I loved because we enjoyed the views of the skyline during the day and at night.

Enjoy the View of Downtown Manhattan From the Outdoor Spa Pools
Even during the winter months, it’s wonderful to experience the crisp air as the steamy air ripples in contrast to the warm outdoor pools.
As an added bonus QC NY Spa has two of the only outdoor heated pools in all of New York City to enjoy year round.
Get Lost and Explore the Relaxation Rooms & Wellness Areas
QC Spa NY is Alice and Wonderland themed and guests are encouraged to get lost and explore.
It’s really fun to wander the building and discover something unexpected down each hallway.
Be on the lookout for the Upside Down Room, Fireplace Room, Scottish Room, Jukebox Room and the Infrared Room.
I seriously could have taken a nap in the Infrared Room because it was so relaxing… but thankfully I didn’t because other guests are walking in and out of the room as they check it out too.
QC NY Spa also has Vichy showers, foot baths, steam baths, and themed saunas.
There’s a good chance that you’ll want to visit these areas more than once during your visit, especially if you’re rotating between going inside and outside the building.
Enjoy a Drink and Light Bites at the Bistro
You can’t bring outside food or drink onto the spa premises but you’ll find alcoholic beverages including wine and cocktails, illy coffee and light bites available for purchase on the Bistro menu.
I ordered an Aperol spritz and my friend opted for a Margarita. We started with our drinks in the lounge area inside and carried them outside to drink while enjoying the view.
There are complimentary wellness bites at hand from 11am to 9pm daily and purified water, coffee, and tea are available to guests anytime.
QC Spa NY has its own signature scent that you can smell throughout the building. There are skincare products and ARIA fragrance diffusers available for purchase in the gift shop.
