During my first visit to the Pocono Mountains, I learned that the area has a lot to offer visitors during the winter. Guests will find plenty of recreation indoors and outdoors.

Hike to the Inspiration for the Split Rock Name
One of the first places we visited during our stay was on a short hike to view the resort’s namesake.
I was told that you can see up to 30 miles away on a clear day.
H2O Indoor Waterpark at Split Rock Resort
One of my favorite features of the resort was the H2O indoor waterpark on-site.
I know my kids would have LOVED this waterpark because it had a lot of the features that they tend to spend the most time on whenever we visit an indoor waterpark.
Here are the top features that my kids would have loved. Surf Simulator, the basketball hoops, tube slides, wave pool, and the lily pads.
I shared this trip to the Pocono Mountains with a lifelong friend as a fun girlfriend getaway without kids.
We both enjoyed the tube slides, the wave pool, and the hot tub.
Moms can still have fun without the kids!
Play Areas for Young Families
If you have younger kids, you will appreciate the area designated for younger kids.
I have been to other indoor waterparks where the seating is really limited, but H20 Indoor Waterpark has a lot of seating throughout.
There are not any complimentary towels provided. You will need to bring your own towel unless you plan on purchasing one. There are lockers available for an additional fee.
The indoor waterpark is open to on-site and day-pass guests.

There is even a first-run movie theater inside the resort! You don’t have to be an overnight guest to visit the resort.

There is an additional indoor pool with a hot tub, a large fitness area, tennis courts, racketball, ping pong, billiard tables, basketball court, arcade, and a bowling alley.
Split Rock is also a popular venue for weddings and big events and offers event more activities for guests in the summer.
Accommodations at Split Rock Resort
Split Rock Resort has several different types of accommodations available for their guests.
Guests can choose from suites, lodge rooms, villas, and cottages.
Split Rock Lodge overlooks Lake Harmony and the Villas at Westwood are a great option for guests who are planning on a longer stay.
Our accommodations had a full kitchen, a large bathroom, a sofa sleeper, and a very comfortable bed. We also took advantage of the complimentary shuttle service because we flew in.

Recreation Near Split Rock Resort
Ski at Jack Frost Resort
Split Rock Resort is located a very short drive from Jack Frost Ski Resort where you can ski, snowboard, or go snow tubing.
Jack Frost offered something for every skill level on the slopes.
The view from the top of the tubing run was really beautiful with incredible views of the Pocono Mountains.
