Located in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania, Fernwood Resort offers several outdoor winter adventures that you will want to add to your list.
Zipline in the Winter
The first adventure we tried was a dual race on the 1,000 ft long Zip Racer Zipline.
This was my friend’s first time ziplining and my first zipline in the snow. The hike up to the platform was very scenic and my friend really enjoyed her 1st zipline experience.
Horseback Riding in the Snow
Next, we went horseback riding. The stable is on the property at Fernwood.
I was really excited about this adventure because neither of us had ever gone horseback riding in the snow.
The ride was very relaxing the horses were very mild which would also make this a great experience for kids too.
Our trail ride lasted about an hour.
In the summer, guests can go on the trail that takes them to the very top of the mountain on the property.
Snow Tubing at White Lightning
Our final adventure that afternoon was spent snow tubing at White Lightning which is also onsite.
I liked that this hill had a moving sidewalk for guests because sometimes it can be awkward to climb out of tube lifts.
That evening we witnessed a beautiful sunset to complete our day.
There is one other adventure onsite at Fernwood Resort that I would have loved to have tried but we ran out of time that afternoon and it wasn’t open the following day.
Ropes Course at Pocono Tree Ventures
The Pocono Tree Ventures ropes course looked amazing! I’ve tried several of these types of courses and I was really impressed to observe the diversity offered on the course. I think that this adventure is worth doing even though I didn’t get to personally experience it.
