Self-care can look different to everyone. From pampering to retail therapy, Liberty Center has you covered for a “Treat Yo Self” adventure. ( I put that reference in there just for you Parks and Rec fans) I’m sharing 7 ways Liberty Center can help you invest in yourself.
So how do I self-care?
Typically it’s by doing something that I don’t do very often….which means taking care of my hair. I have a LOT of hair which tends to add up when it comes to time and cost. I don’t do it as often as I should, which makes it a treat that also makes me feel better about my overall appearance.
1. Get Pampered
I’ve visited the Pure Concepts Salon at Liberty Center a few times now and I’ve walked away with BEAUTIFUL balayage highlighted hair each visit thanks to Brie’s skills. Pure Concepts Salon uses Aveda products which are known for being environmentally friendly hair, skin, and body care using naturally derived ingredients as much as possible.
Haircut guests can opt for a free mini facial or back and scalp massage which makes your visit even better! If you are visiting for the first time, it’s important to know that you will want to bring cash or check for tipping, but you can charge the rest or use a Liberty Center gift card to pay for the services on the bill.
2. Update Your Wardrobe
My clothes are currently fitting a little tighter than they used to which means that I get frustrated when I try to make pieces in my current closet fit ….that no longer fit the same. Sometimes investing in a new piece of clothing that FITS AND FLATTERS your current shape can be an instant mood booster and confidence builder.
3. Catch Up With Friends
Sometimes you just need to spend some time with your tribe. Even if your schedules and availability are becoming more scarce, making time to schedule time with friends over a meal, movie, or live show can be life-giving and help build you back up to tackle to challenges you face with support.
4. Go on a Date
Self-care can also mean investing in your relationship with your significant other. My husband and I try to be mindful to schedule a date if it’s been a while or if we feel that life has been too crazy and we need to set some time to reconnect. If it’s been a while since you’ve set time aside, you can find a lot of date ideas at Liberty Center here.
5. Schedule a Play Date
Let the kids burn off some energy while you enjoy the company of another adult. Sometimes you just need to get out of the house, especially when kids are little and can be physically exhausting. The kids will enjoy playing with others their age and adults can enjoy a conversation with someone older who shares and understands the joys and challenges of raising kids. Take advantage of the food court after you play with plenty of options that will make both parents and kids happy.
6. Take a Yoga Class
Yoga is one of those classes that I need to do more often. It SLOWS me down and really helps me try to get my mind at peace which can be a challenge in itself. A yoga class is a great way to quiet your mind and give your body the self-care it deserves. You can find a schedule of upcoming yoga classes at Liberty Center here.
7. Enjoy an Overnight Stay
Treat yourself to an overnight stay away by yourself, with friends, or with your spouse. The AC Hotel by Marriott is located onsite which makes it easy to experience the shops and entertainment options steps from your hotel. Relax in the hot tub that can be enjoyed inside or outside along with an outdoor lounging area. The suites have two King size beds and a sleeper couch. The balcony viewing area is also perfect for enjoying a nice evening with optimal views for summer concerts.
