Have you been to a murder mystery dinner before?
My husband and I joined my friend Heather, The Food Hussy and her husband for a “Totally 80’s Totally Murder” themed murder mystery hosted at The Old Spaghetti Factory.
Several of the guests got into character and dressed up for the 80’s time period. Dressing up was optional but there was a costume contest for the best dressed guest of the evening. Guests were asked to arrive 30 minutes prior to the dinner. Guests can order a drink before dinner and meet others in the lobby area.
As we entered the dining area, we were greeted by one of the characters of interest.
Guest each stood in line to get pictures in the line up. We had the option of several props to add to our look. Guest of the dinner later had the option to purchase a photo to remember their mystery dining experience.
When we were sitting at our table, we read over the tips for cracking the case that were placed on our table.
There were several murder mystery guests who were selected to be characters in the diner. Several of them really got into character. There were also characters who were part of the show.
Our dinner included a 3 course meal with salad, pasta and ice cream for dessert.
The plot was set and every character had motives for the murder that took place.
The next part was figuring out who did it! My husband got to work by taking notes during our time to meet all of the potential murderers. The hardest part was trying to figure out good questions to ask that would give you the most insight to whether or not they committed the crime.
Murder Mystery Dinners are as fun as you make them. If you get into character and play along, you will have fun. I think this type of adventure is the most fun with a big group who really gets into the theme.

How fun!
We did a murder mystery event at my church (ladies night!) and had a blast.
I didn’t know there was one in Cinci, but now I do I can’t wait to attend! Thanks for sharing.
