The hardest choice you will have to make when you step into Kalahari Indoor Waterpark is deciding what area of the waterpark to go to first.
Kalahari is the size of 3.5 football fields which makes it the largest indoor waterpark in the United States. Kalahari is filled with incredible detail for the artwork and animals on display.
The waterpark provides lots to do for all age groups and family stages.
My boys made a bee line for the Shooting Star water basketball pool area.
Our family was also determined to visit all of the areas of the waterpark during our stay.
If you want a relaxing pace you can enjoy the 12,000 sq. ft wave pool or the Lazy River in an inner tube. You can even catch a few rays under the Texlon transparent roof.
The lifeguard staff at Kalahari was extremely attentive to the safety of the guests in the water during our visit.
The Tanzanian Twister was a ride that intimidated us but ended up being one of our favorites!
You slide through an enclosed slide into a funnel that drops you about 5 feet into a pool of water.
I quickly learned that I wanted to make sure that I went through the whole feet first!
For an extra thrill you have to try Flowrider!
They have a variety of Kalahari black t shirts that ladies can put on over their swimsuit. Take my word for it and put on the black t shirt! You will be glad that you put it on once you discover how your swimsuit gets adjusted by the powerful waves.
Adults will enjoy the hot tub options that allow guests to go outside.
There are even 21 and up hot tubs that include a swim up bar.
You cannot bring outside food or drinks into the waterpark but there are several restaurant and bar options to choose from.
If you are considering going just for the day, make sure that you purchase your passes ahead of time online because the waterpark daypasses can sell out.
If you stay overnight, you will receive several waterpark passes with your room. You can also enjoy the waterpark the day you check in and up until 3pm on the day that you check out.
You can find out more about Kalahari Waterparks, Resorts & Conventions from their website.
Kalahari is located at 7000 Kalahari Drive, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
Disclosure: My family was received complimentary admission for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
