For the last few years, the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Kentucky has offered a beautiful display of lights and attractions to the community for FREE.
The grounds of the Creation Museum are beautiful all year round with lots of walking trails and bridges with incredible views of the lake.
It’s also a popular location used by photographers for family pictures.
Walking along the trails with lit up trees everywhere feels really magical.
Things to do at Christmastown at the Creation Museum
We had a limited time for our visit and chose to walk the trails and visit the petting zoo that offers a lot of interesting animals including a zorse!
There are also several planetarium shows, a cafe, camel rides, nighttime zip lines, and a live nativity.
There were a few vendors on site for concessions available. We couldn’t resist the kettle corn, it was sooo good!
The gazebo by the water is another great area to take pictures from.
Younger guests will love seeing the dinosaurs and feeding the animals at the petting zoo.

Guests can visit the Creation Museum exhibits for an additional fee.
(You can view the lights for free but there is a $10 parking fee)

You can also pay to try ziplining at night across the lake.
During our visit, we watched several people zip line who looked like they were having a blast. The boys and I tried their zip line canopy tour a few weeks ago. ( You can read about our zip line experience here)
ChristmasTown is from 5-8pm every weekend in December which also includes the weekend after Christmas.
Our family really enjoyed our visit the incredible Garden of Lights displays at ChristmasTown. You’ve still got time to create memories with this budget-friendly attraction.
You can learn more about ChristmasTown from the Creation Museum website.
