You might be familiar with the gorgeous architecture at French Lick Springs Resort but they also have a lot for families to enjoy.
I’m sharing the top adventures with kids in French Lick, Indiana.
Our family kicked off spring break at French Lick Springs Resort in French Lick, Indiana.
This might seem like an unusual place for a spring break destination but I was pleasantly surprised to learn about all that the resort had to offer for families year round.
Here are a few highlights that families will enjoy.
Take a seat in the relaxed atmosphere
Don’t let the gorgeous ascetics intimidate you. The atmosphere is really laid back.
Both French Lick Resort and West Baden Springs Resort have plenty of options for you to relax and enjoy a conversation.
Check out the Kids Club Activities
I will warn you that once your kids see the kids club area they will not want to do anything else.
There is something for all ages and interests. Kids can read, create art, play board games, create images with a green screen, play video games and also participate in the organized fun throughout the day.
You can drop your kids off or you can play with them.
Play a Round of FootGolf
Footgolf is a combination of golf and soccer. It’s played on a golf course and you use your feet to kick the soccer ball into a large hole instead of using golf clubs.
Our family had so much fun playing footgolf together.
Take an Architectural Tour
I LOVE architecture and the beauty of kids club is that you can drop off your kids to play if they are not interested in history which is a WIN/WIN!
The West Baden Springs Resort and French Lick Springs Resort both offer architectural tours.
During my visit, I took the West Baden Springs Resort tour which was extremely informative and gave me an opportunity to learn insight into details of the building that I might have overlooked otherwise.
Visit the “Eighth Wonder of the World”
The West Baden Springs Hotel atrium spans 200 ft and was once called “The Eighth Wonder of the World.”
I also wandered around the French Lick Resort to take in all of the detailed design.
Take a Swim in the Indoor or Outdoor Pool
You can swim year-round with indoor and outdoor swimming pool options.
Walk the Passageway to the Bowling Alley
The passageway gives you the history and a unique way to get to the bowling alley.
Take a Trolley Ride
The trolley ride takes you between the two hotels and gives you a taste of history that dates back 100 years.
Visit the historical trains onsite
Enjoy Multiple Restaurant Options
There are multiple restaurants and bars inside French Lick Spring Resort that range in price point and dining desires.
Our family visited the Power Plant restaurant that was the former local for all of the power at the hotel.
If you have a sweet tooth, you will want to stop by the ice cream parlor that also offers a fantastic coffee drink named after the hotel.
You are also within close proximity to several restaurants located across the street.
33 Brick Street
Our family also visited 33 Brick Street which is a short walk from the hotel and has lots of great sports memorabilia including French Lick’s hometown hero Larry Bird.
You can also grab great Italian food and sample great wine at French Lick Winery which can make the parents and the kids happy and is a very short drive from the hotel.
Take a picture with the distinguished guest list
Do a little Shopping at French Lick Resort
Learn about Hot Springs History
You can learn more about the history of the hot springs that made the area famous and also see memorabilia through the years.
Relax with a Spa Treatment
During my visit, I enjoyed a massage at the spa at the West Baden Springs Hotel. It was a great way to unwind and enjoy being pampered.
Take the trails that connect French Lick Springs Resort to the West Badin Springs Hotel
On the trail you can view an abandoned train along the way.
You can also go horseback riding or play golf at West Baden Springs Resort
Unfortunately, we ran out of time because of so many great options to choose from.
Golf is also a huge draw to the resort which is why it was chosen for the 2015 Senior PGA Championship.
French Lick Springs Resort is also located a short drive from the French Lick West Baden Museum and SHOTZ laser tag and mini golf. You can also try the ATV tour at Wilstem Ranch which is located about 15 minutes away.
Enjoy Excellent Customer Service from Great Staff
How do I know? Because my son got sick during our visit and required housekeeping to attend to our room in the middle of the night.
The incident involved changing bedding and curtain panels. I was so relieved that the staff who came to our room that night were extremely understanding and gracious about the whole incident.
