Why I LOVE to Visit Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park Year Round

Why I love Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park year round

I discovered Pyramid Sculpture Park a few years ago and it still remains as one of my favorite Cincinnati area gems. There are a few reasons why.

Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park

There is Art everywhere!

I love any opportunity to see art. Pyramid Hill Sculpture Park has incredible sculptures from artists all over the world. There are 56 outdoor sculptures by 48 artists.

The park was the vision and passion of Harry T. Wilks. He originally purchased 40 acres of land in 1987 and built his home on the property a few years later. He later donated the land to a non profit he created so that the sculpture park could be preserved for generations to come. In 1996, the Sculpture Park was open to the public. I was fortunate enough to meet him before he passed away in 2014. I got to spend about 20 minutes talking to him in his office during my first visit. He had fascinating stories from around the world and his face expressed pure joy as he talked about his love of art that he was able to share with the public.

I’ve only seen the outside of his 7000 sq. ft underground home on the property that is also double as a work of art. I would LOVE to see the inside.

I’m sharing some of my favorite pictures from a few of my visits over the years below.  I seriously love this place!

The park is so large that you might consider renting an “art cart.” This is also a fun way to see the property. Bridgett from 365 Cincinnati joined me on the golf cart during my first visit a few years ago.

Art + Nature

You will see lots of sculptures that incorporate nature. This sculpture park combines art and nature which is even more beautiful.

You can get a great workout discovering all of the sculptures by foot. There are also trails that you can take too.

Ancient Art

The Ancient Sculpture Museum on the property displays sculptures that are thousands of years old from Egyptian, Greek, Roman and Etruscan culture in a 10,000 square foot space. This collection is absolutely incredible!

Holiday Art

Holiday Lights on the Hill is a gorgeous display of Christmas lights that you can drive thru. The pictures honestly don’t do it justice. Just trust me that this light display is worth the drive to see.
