What to Expect at Trick or Treats Fall Fest This Year

Kings Island’s all-new Tricks And Treats Fall Fest is set to be the area’s favorite event for family-friendly Halloween activities and fall fun.

The fall festival is designed to help make special memories and enjoy the fall season with your loved ones safely.

Guests can expect AMAZING food, activities, entertainment, seasonal merchandise and so much more!

When is Tricks And Treats Fall Fest?

Tricks and Treats Fall Fest is Saturdays & Sundays, Sept. 24 – Oct. 29, 2023, from 11AM- 6PM.

*Tricks and Treats Fall Fest is included with your admission ticket. You can find the lowest price on Kings Island tickets here.

*Please note that Planet Snoopy is closed on Fridays and will also close at 7 PM on Saturdays and Sundays during Halloween Haunt.

Visit Designated Trick-or-Treating Spots at Tricks and Treats Fall Fest

There are designated Trick-or-Treating spots (10 in total) for kids with individually packaged treats located in Planet Snoopy or very close to it.

The lines move pretty quickly, especially in the non-kid sections of the park, like Action Zone.

Tricks and Treats Fall Fest activities are NOT in the waterpark like in previous years many years ago.

Make sure that you pick up a Tricks and Treats Fall Fest park map or scan the image with your phone near the entrance so that you don’t miss any treat or treat stations.

Children ages 12 and under are encouraged to dress up in their favorite costumes during their visit to the park.

What are the Costume Guidelines for Tricks and Treats Fall Fest?

Costumes are encouraged for guests ages 12 and under. If you want to wear a costume, make sure that it’s family-friendly.

Keep your weapons and gore at home. Costumes that conceal identity are prohibited.

FYI – Kings Island reserves the right to deny admission to, or remove, any person wearing attire that is inappropriate or that could detract from the experience of other guests at the park.

I would recommend prioritizing the menu items that you want to try because popular menu items could run out closer to the end of the evening.

Hours may be adjusted at any time.

Most of park food locations close 1 hour – to 30 minutes before the park closes. International Street and the restaurants closer to the front of the park are open until the park closes.

I think it’s so much easier to decide once you know what the food options look like.

You can still enjoy live entertainment throughout the park. It’s recommended to arrive 15-30 minutes early before the showtime.

There are plenty of areas throughout the park that are perfect for a family photo or pic with friends.

Are the Rides at Kings Island Still Open During Tricks and Treats Fall Fest?

Yes! You can still enjoy all of your favorite rides (except for water attractions) during your visit to the park.

*Take Note of Early Ride Closures

Planet Snoopy rides will be closed on all Fridays AND starting at 7PM during Haunt events on Saturdays.

Early Ride Time for Season Pass Holders

Park early ride time (ERT) hours for 23 & 24 season pass holders is 10:30 on Saturday & Sunday only. No Early Ride Times on Fridays.

Early Ride Time rides through the end of October are on Banshee, Cargo Loco, Sol Spin, Flying Ace Aerial Chase and Woodstock Gliders.

Season Pass checks will be conducted at ride entrances this year not on International Street.

No Boo Necklace at Kings Island Amusement Park

“No-Boo” Necklace Option If You Want to Stay for Halloween Haunt

The No-Boo Necklace is for any guest who may be a little hesitant to experience Halloween Haunt.

The monsters may still interact with the wearer of a No-Boo necklace, but won’t attempt to scare them. A No-Boo necklace can be purchased at the park.

*If you have younger children, you may want to leave the park before 6 PM on Saturdays when the monsters for Haunt begin to walk throughout the park.

What Ages is Haunt at Kings Island Recommended for?

Haunt is recommended for ages 13 and older due to mature themes and attractions.

What Time Does Haunt Start at Kings Island?

Haunt activities begin at 6 PM beginning Friday, Sept. 22, and running for 15 select nights through Oct. 28.

Haunt Sundays this year are 10/8, 10/15 and 10/22 starting at 6 PM.

Your Kings Island Admission ticket includes Fall Fest and Haunt.

*There is no reentry to the park after 6 PM on Fridays, Saturdays and select Sundays Haunt dates listed above.

Kings Island Haunt

New Chaperone Policy at Kings Island

There is a new chaperone policy at Kings Island to help keep all guests as safe as possible.

Under this policy, all guests at Kings Island ages 15 years old or younger must be accompanied by a chaperone who is at least 21 years old in order to be admitted to, or remain in, the park after 4PM local time to close. 

The chaperone must present a valid government-issued photo identification with date of birth at ticket entry.

One chaperone may accompany no more than (10) guests ages 15 or younger per day.

In addition, the chaperone must accompany their party during entry, remain inside the park during their visit, and be available by phone throughout their stay.

Guests ages 15 years old or younger who are found inside the park unaccompanied by a chaperone will be subject to ejection. This chaperone requirement applies to all Kings Island ticket and season passholders.

Haunt at Kings Island

Bag Policy for Haunt at Kings Island

The bag policy at Kings Island begins at 4 PM.

During Halloween Haunt, re-entry is not permitted for guests who leave the park after 6:00 PM.

Clear plastic bags smaller than 12” x 12” x 6” as well as non-clear wristlets or clutches no larger than 5”x 8”x 2” are allowed after 4:00 PM for Halloween Haunt.

All bags are subject to search prior to entry.

  • Abandoned (New) – The problem started years ago in this new scare zone, on the grounds of the Miami Valley Lumber Company. Men and women, 66 in total, entered the lumber company and were never seen again… at least not the way they used to be. Stepping into Rivertown, outsiders find themselves immersed in a small abandoned lumber village that’s haunted by something mysterious. The forest is overrun by supernatural creatures that have riddled their confines with darkness and despair. Are these the lumber yard workers from days past? And, which of them is evil?

  1. Need to pick up punch cards this year for trick or treating. Younger teens may be denied trick or treating or participating in crafts as well, had is happen to ours 🙁
