Non Scary Adventures for Families at King Island in the Fall

September 18, 2019 By Nedra McDaniel 4 Comments

I LOVE adventure, but I don’t do scary. It’s just not my thing. It’s also something that my family isn’t really interested in either. I don’t like things jumping out at me…. and I don’t like jumping from things… that jump out at me.

But just because I don’t enjoy scary, that doesn’t mean that I have to stop having fun at Kings Island. There are still plenty of family-friendly options for families in the fall.

Experience the Great Pumpkin Fest

Visit the park during the day and you will experience lots of non-scary Halloween themed activities that are very family-friendly on Saturdays and Sundays from 12-7 pm mid-September- late October.

The Planet Snoopy Children’s Area of the park offers addition games and kid-friendly themed attractions for hours of fun.

Kids can dress up in their favorite costume and trick or treat at different stations, watch a show, say hi to a Peanuts character, pick out a small pumpkin, visit the barnyard animals, play in foam or the corn box, and go through a maze…to name a few.

My boys LOVED attending the Great Pumpkin Fest when they were little!

Pose for a Fall themed Photo Opp

There are several areas that are staged for family photos and funny cutouts. Take the pictures and make memories that you will enjoy looking back at for years to come.

Enjoy a Themed Show

There Halloween kid-themed shows and additional shows like “Monsters Rock” that feature Monster hits from some of your favorite artists that will appeal to all ages.

Ride the Train

Take the non-scary train ride over to Soak City to save a few steps or just enjoy the ride because you can.

View Fall Colors From Above

You can view the autumn colors from a bird’s eye view from above at the Eiffel Tower or from your favorite roller coaster or thrill ride.

Try Seasonal Treats & Eats

There are several fall flavors to look forward to at Kings Island.

  • Pumpkin Spice Funnel Cake
  • Graeter’s Pumpkin Ice Cream
  • Caramel Apples from the Sweet Spot
  • Hot chocolate available throughout the park
  • Food trucks at the foot of the Eiffel Tower

Create a Special Halloween Themed Souvenir

Kids can select and create their own Halloween creature at Build-a-Bear.

Take Advantage of the Best Value for Admission

You can purchase one-day tickets to the park is at visitkingsisland.com

The best way to experience the park in the fall is with a Gold Season Pass. If you have a season pass you don’t feel the stress to cram in everything in one visit.

I love that we can stop by for a few hours to spend time together as a family without the commitment of visiting all day when our schedule is busy.

We typically eat lunch with our All Season Dining plan and then ride a few rides and head home after a few hours on Sundays.

You can also spend time more enjoying the seasonal activities that you might not experience otherwise if you only have one day in the park.

*If you purchase your pass for the following season in the fall, you get unlimited visits for the rest of this year and all of the next year.

Disclosure: I’m a Kings Island Ambassador which means that I share my love for the park and enjoy perks and behind the scenes access.
