A Unique Overnight Stay in Gatlinburg, TN
I’m a sucker for a unique overnight stay. I’ve slept overnight in a museum, aquarium, zoo, covered wagon, treehouses, and even in a submarine!
So of course I was SO EXCITED when I was invited to check out the game-themed Go Lodge mansion in Gatlinburg, TN. I’ve loved finding so many unique adventures in the Smoky Mountains over the years during our visits to the area so I welcomed the opportunity to come back.
The Go Lodge is a great option for families and groups who want to choose their own adventure during their visit to the Smoky Mountains. There is plenty of space for everyone to spread out within this mansion.
You will definitely want to allow enough time to enjoy all of the game rooms and unique features of the mansion in between your Smoky Mountain adventures.

Go Lodge Game-Themed Lodge Map in Gatlinburg, TN
The Go Lodge Map on the wall of the foyer will help you navigate your way around the house. When we arrived we decided to go through every room together before we decided which rooms we would sleep in.
The Go Lodge also has WIFI if you need to stay connected during your visit.
It was so fun to discover something new every time we opened the door to a room in the mansion for the first time.

If you love puzzles, this is the room for you! The Puzzle Room is located to the right of the foyer.
There are two tables with seating for 8 people that can be used for working on your puzzle of choice from the shelves on the wall. Above the fireplace there is even a framed puzzle of the map of the Go Lodge.
The wall in the Puzzle Room also has giant magnetic puzzle pieces that you can put together to create a large picture.
Power Up Kitchen at Go Lodge in Gatlinburg, TN
Super Mario fans will LOVE this game-themed kitchen complete with a Nintendo gaming system.
Each room in the Go Lodge has a QR code that you can pull up with your phone to learn more about the details of the room from the Go Lodge website.
There is also an old school intercom system in the house. This could be a fun way to notify your house guests that it’s time to eat.
Kids will love sitting on the stools by the mushroom-themed tables or playing a game while they wait for their meal to be ready.
The Power Up Kitchen has all of the basics covered if you plan on making meals during your stay. It’s still fun to hang out in the full kitchen even if you are just eating restaurant leftovers.

Get A Clue Room at Go Lodge
If you love the board game Clue or the movie Clue, you’ll appreciate the details in this room. The Get A Clue Room is located to the left of the foyer toward the front of the house.
Look close. Guests will love looking at their reflection in the mirror in front of their mustache of choice.
The shadowboxes with different weapons from the board game were also a fun touch.
The only thing that would make this room even better would be a secret passageway taking you into another room. There isn’t one…so just use your imagination.
This room also has a twin sleeper sofa that sleeps 1.
Boneyard Bathroom
This domino-themed bathroom is closest to the rooms toward the entry of the house and the Brick bedroom.
The half bath is a convenient option for guests staying a few steps away in the Brick Room too.
Don’t forget to stop to look at the game-themed art in the hallway as you check out the bedrooms.
Brick Room at Go Lodge
This LEGO-themed room has two triple, twin-sized bunk beds and sleeps six. The Brick Room has a table for building with LEGO bricks and a large interactive wall to build on.
Kids of all ages will enjoy building unique creations in this room.
If you have younger kids staying in this room I would suggest sleeping in the The Word Play Room or the Free Parking Room to be in the bedrooms closest to them.

If you are staying multiple nights, there is a washer and dryer available for guests to use.
The Word Play Room has a giant magnetic Scrabble board on the wall, allowing you to move around the letters.
Trivia Bathroom
This full-sized bathroom is perfect for Trivial Pursuit fans. You can test your trivia knowledge with the trivia questions on the walls.
The bathrooms had small bottles of shampoo and conditioner for guests to use. I would recommend bringing larger bottles of your hair care and body wash of choice for your stay.
Free Parking Room at Go Lodge
This Monopoly-themed room has a king-sized bed and sleeps two. The nightstands are giant dice that light up by turning the small switch located on the center of the back of the dice.
The Free Parking Room was one of my personal favorites.
The mirror shaped game pieces displayed on the wall were another nice touch in this room.
Be on the lookout for fun facts displayed on the wall about each room in the house during your stay.
Spin to Win Room
This Game of Life-themed room has a queen-size bed and sleeps two.
My favorite thing about this room is the working spinner on the wall.
Guests can play an interactive game in the Go Lodge with the activities listed on the wall that you can try in the mansion.
Each bedroom also has a charging station/ night light that goes with it’s theme.
Royal Flush Bathroom
The Royal Flush bathroom has a card theme and is the largest bathroom in the mansion. It’s very spacious with a large counter with two sinks, tub, and a small shower.
You can even play a game of solitaire in the tub with waterproof playing cards!
High Roller Room
The High Roller Room is a Las Vegas-themed bedroom that is located the farthest away from the rest of the rooms in the house.
This bedroom has a king-sized bed that sleeps two and it’s own full bath attached.
The High Roller Room Includes:
- Video poker
- Slots
- Roulette
- Blackjack and more!
Sink it Bathroom
It’s appropriate that this bathroom was a Battleship-theme because it’s one of the smallest bathrooms in the house.
For guests sleeping in the High Roller Room it’s nice to have a private bathroom in your room. If you want to take a bath, the Royal Flush bathroom is next to the High Roller Room.
The Second Floor of the Go Lodge Mansion
Access to the second floor of the Go Lodge is located off of the foyer.
Each step of the game-themed staircase makes the walk up the stairs way more fun.
You’ll also discover another infinity table with games to play at the top of the landing.

I loved learning so many fun facts from our time in the Go Lodge like this theory about the origin of playing cards.
This bedroom also has mountain views out the window facing the driveway.
Courtyard for the Go Lodge
There is a fenced in area with outdoor games and seating. You can access the courtyard from the Power Up Kitchen or the door near the High Roller Room.

The Driveway for the Go Lodge
4×4 drive is recommended for anywhere in The Great Smoky Mountains. The road to the driveway is paved and pretty steep. My friend’s minivan got up it fine and thankfully we had great weather during our stay.
There is parking for several vehicles in front of the mansion.
Prep for the Go Mansion Steps
There are quite a few stairs to the entrance of the mansion. I would recommend packing backpacks if possible to make for easier trips up the stairs. I brought a carry on and it wasn’t that hard to get up the stairs either.
There are a few less stairs in the rear of the house near the garage if entering by the Sports Stadium room but the driveway by the garage is way steeper than the front entrance driveway.
Laundry Area for Go Lodge
If you need to do laundry during your stay, there is a front loading washer with a dryer stacked on top in the closet nearby.
We noticed there were a few laundry pods provided but if you plan on doing laundry for multiple families I would suggest bringing a few more.

There is a Gatlinburg Trolley Stop located across the street from the Go Lodge. (An easy walk down the road to the trolley stop and a more challenging walk back up the hill to the Go Lodge.)
The Gatlinburg Trolley is a FREE option for travelers who don’t want to deal with parking. This is a nice option for anyone with more margin in their schedule.
You can watch the Gatlinburg Trolleys in real time by using the Gatlinburg Trolley locater to help you determine your best options. It’s also important to check the trolley routes because some run later than others.
If you like to do things on your own timeline you may want to still drive…just be prepared to pay for parking.
We almost rode the trolley after visiting Ripley’s Aquarium downtown but then decided we could walk just as fast to the area we wanted the trolley to take us to.
