If you’re visiting Kings Island Amusement Park for the day, you’ll likely grab a bite to eat there.
I’m sharing tips to help you save on meals, restaurants to try at the park, and dining plan menu items so that you can plan ahead and make the most of your experience dining at Kings Island.
Disclosure: I’m a Kings Island Ambassador.
I share my love for the park and enjoy perks and behind-the-scenes access. This article contains affiliate links.
Local Cincinnati Favorites at Kings Island Amusement Park
I love to check out the local foods when I visit a destination.
If you’re visiting from out of town, Kings Island has several local favorites in its dining options that will give you a taste of some of the local flavors.
LaRosa’s Pizza
LaRosa’s is a local chain known for its thin-crust pizza served with a sweet sauce and provolone cheese on top.
There is even a theory that LaRosa’s Pizza tastes better at Kings Island.
Skyline Chili
Cincinnati Style Chili has a cult following. The majority of people either love it or hate it.
It’s definitely not your typical traditional chili and Skyline Chili is by far one of the most popular chili parlor chains in the area.
You can order a cheese coney, 3-way ( spaghetti covered with chili topped with a mound of shredded cheddar cheese), or a 4-way (3-way plus onions or beans)
Tom and Chee
You might recognize this brand from its features on Shark Tank or the Travel Channel.
They’re known for their grilled cheese, melts, and their grilled cheese donut.
Graeter’s Ice Cream
Grab a scoop of handcrafted ice cream using the French Pot Process.
One of the most popular flavors is Raspberry Chip, but you can’t go wrong with any of their flavors.
Be ready for an ice cream with giant chunks of chocolate if you order any “chip” flavored options.
Famous Blue Ice Cream at Kings Island Amusement Park
If you have a history of visiting Kings Island that spans a few decades, you might have fond memories of the Blueberry soft served ice cream.
It was known as the “Smurf cone” during the Hanna Barbera Land era of the park.
I highly recommend topping your blue ice cream with rainbow sprinkles, just because you can. Blue ice cream is the most nostalgic in the Planet Snoopy kids area.
Blue ice cream can also be found in the “Ice Scream Zone” in the Action Zone area of the park.
Ways to Save Money on Meals at Kings Island Amusement Park
There are several dining options to save money on meals at Kings Island.
Single Meal Deal
A single-meal deal includes an entree, a side, and a regular fountain drink.
All-Day Dining Ticket
I recommend the “All Day Dining Plan” if you plan on visiting Kings Island for the day.
This plan is best for out-of-town guests and Non-Season Pass holders. With All Day Dining, you get a meal with an entree and a side every 90 minutes.
I recommend setting an alarm on your phone to help you keep track of your meal times.
Premium All-Day Dining Ticket
The all-day dining tickets include an entree or snack every 90 minutes and beverages all day. (Drink refills must be 15 minutes apart)
All-Season Dining Plan
If you’re a Season Pass Member I highly recommend the All Season Dining Plan where you can eat up to 2 meals, 4 hours apart during each visit.
You can read more about Why I bought the All Season Dining Plan here.

Ways to Save Money on Drinks at Kings Island
Soft Drinks, Pop, Coke, or whatever you call it
If you are big on soft drinks, you have a few ways that you can save on beverages too.
If you are only visiting for the day you might consider purchasing the Souvenir Bottle (Buy online and save)
Enjoy Coca-Cola beverages including Minute Maid Lemonade, Hi-C Fruit Punch, and Powerade drinks.
You get FREE refills on your first visit and pay $6.99 plus tax for refills all day whenever you visit within the same season.
All Season Drink Plan With Souvenir Bottle
If you are a Season Pass holder for the best value you can choose between the All Season Souvenir Bottle or go bottle-free with the Season Pass Drink Plan and enjoy unlimited drink refills for one low price for the season!
If you don’t want to carry a souvenir bottle each time you visit the park there is an All Season Drink Plan with a paper cup option.
Season Pass Drink Plus Plan
The Season Pass Drink Plus Plan includes unlimited Coca-Cola fountain beverage refills, ICEE refills, hot chocolate, and coffee refills throughout the season
*There is a 15-minute interval between drink refills.
Are Courtesty Cups of Water Still Available?
You can still get courtesy cups of water where drinks are available.
They are small cups so if you want to stay hydrated all day you may want to consider purchasing a souvenir drink cup.
Where Can You Purchase Adult Beverages at Kings Island?
There are several locations where you can buy a beer or specialty drink.
Miami River Brewhouse, The Mercado, Festhaus, Outpost Frozen Cocktails, and 21 and Colder also have alcohol available.
Coconut Grove Bar serves alcohol in the Soak City Waterpark.
Where are the Coffee Stops at Kings Island?
Coffee lovers will find caffeinated options at the large Starbucks on International Street with plenty of seating.
During Winterfest, more vendors sell coffee and hot chocolate.
Got Food Allergies?
You can still find lots of dining options throughout the park.
If you have a specific dietary regimen or food allergies, you’ll want to speak to a food and beverage supervisor for guidance and recommendations.
For specifics on each restaurant menu item in the park, you’ll want to check out the Kings Island Food Allergen & Dietary Restrictions Guide.
It covers the most common food allergies and dietary preferences including:
- Milk
- Egg
- Fish
- Shellfish
- Peanuts
- Tree Nuts
- Soybean
- Gluten
- Sesame
- Vegan
- Vegetarian
One of My Favorite Places to Dine at Kings Island
I always look forward to the breaded shrimp, spicy sauce, and wavy fries at the Island Smokehouse in Soak City during the summer.
I order it every time I visit the waterpark and sometimes I walk over from the other side of the park for it. The breading for the shrimp reminds me of a hushpuppy and the sauce has a great kick to it.
All season long Coney-BBQ- Smokehouse is my go-to for meats that have been slow-cooked with great sides.
Enrique’s and Miami River Brewhouse are always great options too.
Air Conditioned Dining Options at Kings Island
If you are trying to beat the heat, my first recommendation would be the Miami River Brewhouse.
Another great location would be the Festhaus with large Bavarian-style tables perfect for large groups.
It has several different restaurants in one spot and live shows throughout the day.
More Sweet Treats
Because you can never have too many sweets on an adventure day, I recommend sharing a funnel cake ice cream sundae (located on International Street near the Eiffel Tower) or another local favorite, Graeter’s Ice Cream.
You can also find specialty candies and treats at the Sweet Spot or grab a cinnamon sugar pretzel at Auntie Anne’s.
Unique Eats
If you are feeling extra adventurous check out the wild flavors of cotton candy- ( chili pepper, cake batter, and ranch, to name a few) inside The Sweet Spot shop on International Street.
